Job Description

  • Supplier Base Development: Identify and develop a supplier base capable of supporting scaled up volumes
  • Strategy Development: Create and implement strategy & strategic roadmaps for Electrical and Electronic components.
  • Product Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in:
  • PCB assemblies, BMS, PDU, Telematics, Rectifiers / Chargers, Display units, Embedded computers, Switchgears, Switches, Sensors, Wiring Harness, switches micro/nano, IOT parts & other EE commodities
  • Experience in EMS supplier handling and process knowledge.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure program deliverables meet cost, delivery, and quality objectives.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and sustain long-term relationships with suppliers based on product requirements and technology roadmaps.
  • RFQ Management: Send RFQs, verify quotes, validate cost elements, and negotiate quotes to meet cost targets.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate & finalize techno-commercial contracts based on business requirements.
  • Prototype Development: Source and develop prototype samples for alpha build, initial testing, and validation.
  • Technical Understanding: Understand BOM, read drawings, and part specifications to effectively communicate with suppliers.
  • Alternate Vendor Development: Develop alternate vendors to de-risk the supply chain and reduce costs.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks for key and critical parts.
  • Market Knowledge: Good knowledge of Electrical and Electronics manufacturers and distributor bases domestically and globally.
  • Agreements Management: Manage agreements like NDA, Warranty, SLA & Supplier engagement agreements.
  • Audit Participation: Participate in supplier qualification audits.
  • Skillset:
  • Engineering Skills: Ability to understand engineering specifications, drawings and Statement Of Requirements
  • Technical Knowledge: Electronics (active, passive, discreet ) , Electrical parts, IP67 power and signal connectors and wiring harness.
  • Costing Skills: Zero-based costing , ability to cost benchmark of proprietary items
  • Quality Management: APQP and PPAP tools.
  • Manufacturing Experience: EMS, wiring harness, box buildings & EE parts manufacturing.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze supplier financials and capabilities.
  • ERP Knowledge: ERP modules
