  • Handle and support the safe execution of hazardous chemical reactions and laboratory operations
  • Ensure safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals as per SOPs
  • Identify, investigate, and assess workplace risks and recommend control measures
  • Execute statutory compliance under GPCB, GFR, PESO, etc., including inspections, audits, reporting, and timely closure of regulatory observations
  • Support safety, QA, statutory, internal, and external audits across sites and ensure timely closure of observations
  • Oversee ETP and STP operations, including daily monitoring, performance optimisation, sludge management, and compliance reporting
  • Ensure effective waste management practices for hazardous, non-hazardous, and recyclable waste streams
  • Lead and document accident, incident, and near-miss investigations using recognised root cause analysis tools (RCA, 5-Why, Fishbone, TapRooT, etc.) and drive preventive actions
  • Implement fire safety systems, mock drills, and evacuation plans
  • Provide preliminary first aid and immediate response to employees in case of accidents
  • Drive EHS training, safety culture, and emergency preparedness, including behavioural safety initiatives, mock drills, and incident response
  • Integrate EHS across functions and develop the team by working with QA, Engineering, and Projects, and mentoring junior EHS team members
  • Conduct regular safety meetings with all departments to review risks and promote safety culture
  • Able to manage routine EHS operations to ensure continuous compliance and safe working conditions

Job requirements

  • 2-10 years of corresponding experience working in pharmaceutical or chemical companies
  • Master's in Chemistry with Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS)
  • Demonstrate a proactive and fearless approach to accident handling and risk mitigation
  • Clear understanding of EHS principles & strategies
  • Be highly organised with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Self-motivated with initiative to reach challenging targets
  • Outstanding business writing and proofreading skills with a fearless and positive mindset
  • Exceptional attention to detail and good at the drafting process and policies
  • Positivity, focus and a winning mentality allied with kindness
