Job Description

Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical). Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling. Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist. The work of the EH&S Engineer who is an Industrial Hygienist involves industrial hygiene, life safety, and ergonomic compliance-related activities. Implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions. Monitors industrial health compliance.

Your Role:

Environmental, Health, & Safety Tasks

ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT:

  • Managing and reviewing the Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) program for Varex Imaging India for Pune and Vizag Plant.
  • Knowledge of Renewal of MPCB Consent, DISH - Factory License, Stability Certificate, Contract agreements with Hazardous waste collector, biological waste collector.
  • Maintain Environment related compliance s like Monitoring of Air & Noise monitoring, Workplace monitoring, FORM 4, FORM 5, FORM 8, FORM- 9, FORM - 10 etc.
  • Audit requirements and handle audits like (ISO, ITF, OSHAS etc.)
  • Have experience to prepare of Environmental Aspect & Impact Assessment.
  • Management information system (MIS) on daily and monthly reports with graphical presentation.
  • Documentation -SOP, MSDS preparation & product related compliance and Checklist.
  • Manage Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), Sewage Treatment plant (STP), Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Demineralization (DM) plant in line with the regulatory standard.
  • Monitoring of effluent parameters on daily basis for smooth operation of wastewater treatment facility and have a knowledge of Testing Lab.
  • Standard treatment procedures for effluent analysis and trained in preparation of laboratory chemicals, use of laboratory instruments, collection and preservation of water / wastewater samples and analysis for various environmental parameters.
  • Prepare and maintain daily logbooks for plant operation, laboratory analysis to ensure smooth operation.
  • Hands on experience to identifying the system troubleshooting and malfunctions in ETP, STP & DM Plant & suggesting remedial measure.
  • Manage inventory for the required chemicals goods and equipment s with critical spares.
  • Should have knowledge of management and Safe Handling of Hazardous waste by disposing it off to the Common Hazardous Waste Treatment Storage Disposal Facility.
  • Identifying training needs of environmental awareness by conducting awareness programs like world environment day along with smooth plant operation.
  • Have an experience to handling & calibrating of Online monitoring System and return submission by Liaoning with the agency.
  • Should have an experience to operating SCADA operation.

HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT:

  • Maintain Safety compliance s like FORM B, FORM 9A, FORM 9B, FORM 11, FORM 13, FORM 27, Annual Health checkup, Mock Drill, Safety Audit, Fire NOC, etc.
  • Implement & monitor the health & safety programs, policies, procedures, and programs with Safety Audits and documentation.
  • Should have knowledge of Work Permit Systems like General Work, Electrical Work, Hot Work, Working at Height, Entry into Confined Space i.e. vessel entry, Excavation, Opening of equipment / pipe line carrying hazardous chemicals.
  • Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA s) and recommend corrective actions, HIRA, Risk Assessment, Near miss etc. audits
  • Conduct safety training, including new employee safety orientation and other specific training topics as needed.
  • Preparation of various Checklists, Formats and Standard Operating Procedure related to Safety.
  • Experience of preparing Job Safety Analysis, HIRA & HAZOP
  • Experience of managing and handling the Fire Fighting System.
  • Ensured compliance of all Health and Safety programs with IMS and requirements.
  • On-Site Emergency Management Plan and conduct Mock Drills with documentation.
  • Experience of preparing Yearly Training Module & Training History Card.
  • Prepare and implement Accident/Incident reporting system, Installation of safety signs and other safety promotion posters to remind workers to work safely and conducting Safety Day/week.
  • Ensure standard installation of Gas plants (Nitrogen, Oxygen, LPG, Hydrogen etc.) with compliances to applicable norms such as PESO etc.
  • Hands On Experience of Supply, Installation and O&M for Gases requirements.
  • Works hand in hand with Engineering team for O&M activities as a part of Facilities team.
  • Verbal Communication The ability to effectively communicate with all site personnel and regulators. This includes the ability to reinforce EHS concepts and policies in a manner that promotes learning and compliance.
