Job Title: Spatial Designer – Environmental Branding

Location: Mumbai

Job Type: Full-time

Reports to: Creative Director / Design Manager

Compensation: based on experience, skills, and portfolio 

Role Overview 

We're looking for a sharp, intuitive Spatial Designer – Environmental Branding to craft meaningful brand experiences through space. You'll work at the intersection of environmental graphic design (EGD), spatial branding, and interior architecture, creating immersive environments that connect brand strategy with built form.Your work will span workplace branding, retail environments, cultural and exhibition spaces, wayfinding systems, and experiential brand environments. If you think in narratives, obsess over detail, and love shaping how people move through and feel inside spaces, this role is for you. 

Key Responsibilities 

o Design & Spatial Storytelling 

  • Conceptualize and articulate design strategies for physical brand experiences across corporate offices, cultural institutions, retail spaces, and exhibitions. 
  • Develop spatial narratives, branded environments, and experiential journeys that reflect a brand's values, voice, and vision. 
  • Integrate typography, materiality, colour, and environmental graphics into architectural contexts. 
  • Translate brand identity systems into three-dimensional, human-cantered spatial experiences. 

o Environmental Graphics, Signage & Wayfinding 

  • Design wayfinding systems, signage families, placemaking interventions, murals, installations, and spatial graphics that work in harmony with architecture and interiors. 
  • Use scale, hierarchy, information design, and sensory cues to shape intuitive and accessible user journeys. 
  • Work on zonal branding, floor graphics, glass graphics, feature walls, supergraphics, and façade interventions aligned with brand guidelines. 

o Visualization, Documentation & Communication 

  • Develop mood boards, concept sketches, storyboards, diagrams, and 3D mock-ups to communicate ideas clearly. 

o Cultural, Contextual & Material Sensibility 

  • Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of color, light, materials, scale, context, and user behaviour in space. 
  • Research local culture, workplace culture, user journeys, and brand ecosystems to inform design decisions. 
  • Bring sensitivity towards inclusive design, accessibility, and sustainability practices in the built environment. 

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Degree in Spatial Design, Environmental Graphic Design, Exhibition Design, Interior Architecture, Visual Communication, or allied fields. 
  • 6–15 years of experience in spatial or environmental branding, preferably with experiential, retail, EGD, or spatial branding studios. (We are open to freshers too!) 
  • Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and 3D visualization tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, or similar. Knowledge of Revit and Figma is a plus. 
  • Proven ability in spatial storytelling, information hierarchy, typography in space, and visual systems thinking
  • Comfort working with signage & wayfinding, branded environments, experiential graphics, and place branding
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present, defend, and iterate on ideas collaboratively. 
  • A portfolio that showcases: Environmental graphics, wayfinding, branded interiors, exhibitions, or placemaking work 
  • Strong brand-to-space translation 
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration and clear design rationale 

Bonus Points For 

  • Interest or experience in public art, placemaking, and speculative spatial design
  • Experience with cultural institutions, galleries, museums, installations, or event branding
  • Familiarity with sustainability-focused materials, circular design, and low-impact fabrication methods
  • Curiosity about how people emotionally and behaviourally interact with space, graphics, and brand cues
