Role Description The Editorial Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram. This role supports the editorial team in preparing manuscripts for publication by performing text editing, proofreading, and basic content refinement. The Editorial Assistant will coordinate with writers, designers, and marketing colleagues to ensure consistent quality, style, and tone across projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing drafts for grammatical accuracy and clarity, organizing editorial schedules, maintaining documentation and version control, and assisting with the preparation of marketing and web content linked to book campaigns. The role also involves communicating with internal and external stakeholders, supporting project timelines, and contributing ideas to enhance overall editorial workflows.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Writing and Editorial skills, with the ability to refine content for clarity, coherence, and target audience.
  • Candidates should possess proficient Text Editing and Proofreading skills to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with authors, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Relevant skills such as attention to detail, time management, and basic understanding of book publishing or content production workflows are beneficial.
  • A bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
  • Comfort with digital tools (e.g., word processors, collaboration platforms) and willingness to learn publishing-specific software is advantageous.
