Job Summary
The Editor will be a key member of the production and research support team, responsible for ensuring accuracy, consistency, clarity, and professional presentation of all written outputs produced by the research function.
This role demands a detail-oriented, deadline-driven professional with strong editorial judgment and a sound understanding of financial markets. The Editor will work closely with equity analysts, sector specialists, compliance teams, and senior leadership to ensure that all research publications, reports, presentations, and client communications meet institutional quality standards and regulatory expectations.
The role offers long-term growth opportunities within research production, editorial leadership, and capital markets content management, under the guidance of senior research and business leadership.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Editorial Review & Quality Control: Review, edit, and proofread equity research reports, market notes, earnings updates, thematic reports, presentations, and client publications to ensure accuracy, clarity, logical flow, and adherence to internal editorial standards.
• Financial Content Accuracy: Ensure correctness of financial terminology, market data references, valuation commentary, assumptions, disclaimers, and factual statements in coordination with analysts.
• Research Collaboration: Work closely with equity analysts, strategists, and sector heads to refine content, improve readability, and align outputs with investor expectations and institutional best practices.
• Style Guide & Standardization: Develop, implement, and enforce editorial style guides, templates, formatting standards, and version control across all research and publication materials.
• Production & Deadline Management: Manage editing timelines in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple deliverables, and ensure timely release of reports during earnings seasons and market-sensitive periods.
• Compliance & Regulatory Alignment: Coordinate with compliance and legal teams to ensure research publications adhere to SEBI regulations, internal compliance frameworks, disclaimers, and disclosure norms.
• Publication Coordination: Support end-to-end production workflows including document formatting, naming conventions, archival, version tracking, and final dissemination to internal and external stakeholders.
• Content Consistency Across Platforms: Ensure consistency of messaging, tone, and data across research reports, marketing decks, website uploads, and client-facing materials.
• Administrative & Documentation Support: Maintain structured repositories of published research, editorial checklists, approval logs, and archival records for audit, reference, and compliance purposes.
• Process Improvement: Identify gaps in editorial workflows and suggest process enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a central editorial point of contact between analysts, compliance, sales, and management for research publication-related queries and clarifications.
Requirements
• Strong command of written English with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven financial environment.
• Solid understanding of equity markets, financial statements, valuation concepts, and economic trends.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and market-sensitive information with integrity.
• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel; familiarity with publishing or document management tools is an advantage.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with research, compliance, and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's / Master's degree in English, Journalism, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Prior experience as an Editor / Research Editor / Publications Editor in a financial services firm, sell-side institutional equity house, investment bank, or research organization.
• 4--10 years of relevant editorial or research production experience in capital markets or financial publishing.
