EDI / B2B Integration Analyst & Developer

The EDI / B2B Integration Analyst & Developer plays a critical role in Vertiv's digital and supply chain transformation, enabling scalable, reliable, and compliant business-to-business (B2B) integrations with customers, suppliers, logistics providers, and external partners.

This role partners closely with business stakeholders and external trading partners to define, design, and deliver EDI and API-based integration solutions that automate key business transactions (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Logistics). The position ensures seamless data exchange across platforms, improves operational efficiency, and enhances visibility across the partner ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

EDI / B2B Integration Delivery

  • Design, develop, and support EDI and B2B integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC)
  • Build and maintain integrations across ERP (Oracle EBS), eCommerce platforms, and external partner systems.
  • Develop and manage data mappings, transformations, and validations for structured (EDI) and API-based exchanges.

Partner Onboarding & Lifecycle Management

  • Lead or support end-to-end onboarding of trading partners (customers, suppliers, 3PLs), including:
    • Requirements gathering and partner connectivity setup
    • Mapping specifications and testing coordination
    • Go-live readiness and hypercare support
  • Collaborate with VAN providers, network platforms, and third-party integrators.
  • Maintain partner profiles, communication protocols, and onboarding documentation.

EDI Standards & Transaction Management

  • Design and maintain EDI flows based on standards such as:
    • ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and partner-specific formats
  • Support core B2B transactions including:
    • Purchase Orders (850 / ORDERS)
    • Order Acknowledgements (855 / ORDRSP)
    • Advance Ship Notices (856 / DESADV)
    • Invoices (810 / INVOIC)
  • Manage exceptions, reprocessing, acknowledgments (997/CONTRL), and data quality issues.

Operational Excellence & Support

  • Provide L2/L3 production support for EDI/B2B integrations, ensuring SLA adherence.
  • Monitor transaction flows and proactively identify failures, performance issues, and bottlenecks.
  • Drive incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Integration Architecture & Governance

  • Contribute to integration standards, design patterns, and governance for B2B/EDI solutions.
  • Align EDI and API-based integration strategies (e.g., hybrid EDI + API model).
  • Ensure solutions comply with security, compliance, and audit requirements.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, Logistics, and IT teams.
  • Engage with external partners to define integration requirements and SLAs.
  • Produce clear functional and technical documentation, including mapping specs and runbooks.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-10 years of IT experience, with strong focus on integration.
  • Minimum 3+ years of EDI/B2B or integration development experience.

Preferred Qualifications

EDI / B2B Expertise

  • Strong understanding of:
    • EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT)
    • B2B communication protocols: AS2, SFTP, VAN, HTTPS
  • Hands-on experience with EDI mapping, translation, and partner onboarding.
  • Experience supporting high-volume transactional environments.

Integration Platforms & ERP

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) / SOA Suite
    • ERP integration (preferably Oracle EBS Order Management, Shipping, AR/AP)
  • Familiarity with integration monitoring, reprocessing, and error handling patterns.

API & Modern Integration Skills

  • Exposure to API-led integrations and tools such as Apigee or Azure API Management.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, and hybrid integration patterns (EDI + API).

Process Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of end-to-end processes:
    • Order-to-Cash (O2C)
    • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
    • Logistics / Fulfillment flows

Operational & Delivery Skills

  • Experience with:
    • Testing strategies (unit, SIT, UAT) for EDI transactions
    • Writing business and technical requirements
    • Incident and change management processes (ITIL)
  • Experience working with distributed global teams and external partners

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills across business and technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple partner integrations in parallel
  • Self-starter with strong ownership and accountability mindset
