Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced IBDP and IGCSE Economics and Business Teacher to deliver high-quality, inquiry-driven, and concept-based learning aligned with Cambridge and IB Diploma Programme frameworks. The role focuses on developing students economic, business, and critical thinking skills while supporting academic excellence and holistic development.The teacher will work collaboratively with subject teams, coordinators, student support staff, and parents to maintain rigorous assessment standards and foster an inclusive, student-centred learning environment.Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and deliver engaging Economics and Business lessons aligned with IBDP and IGCSE frameworks
  • Apply inquiry-based, concept-driven, and interdisciplinary teaching methodologies
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Integrate appropriate technology, learning resources, and real-world contexts
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, review, and subject innovation
  • Design and implement formative, summative, and reflective assessment strategies
  • Monitor, document, and report student progress through trackers, portfolios, and reports
  • Analyse student performance data to inform instructional strategies and interventions
  • Provide constructive feedback to support student reflection and academic growth
  • Collaborate with subject teams, coordinators, and cross-disciplinary colleagues
  • Participate in subject-specific, grade-level, and whole-school meetings
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to professional learning communities
  • Act as a homeroom or advisory teacher supporting student wellbeing and pastoral care
  • Supervise students during classes, activities, trips, and school events
  • Promote inclusivity, equity, and diversity within the classroom
  • Build strong partnerships with parents through regular communication
  • Participate in school events, co-curricular activities, and community initiatives
  • Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant subject area with a recognised teaching qualification
  • Master's degree in Education, Economics, Business, or related subject area
  • Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience at secondary level
  • Proven experience teaching IGCSE and or IBDP Economics and Business
  • Strong understanding of Cambridge and IB frameworks and assessment practices
  • Experience in lesson planning, assessment design, and classroom management
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to student wellbeing, international mindedness, and inclusive education

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Additional certification or training in Cambridge or IBDP frameworks
  • Experience as an IB or Cambridge examiner
  • Exposure to Extended Essay, Internal Assessment, CAS, or TOK supervision
  • Experience in international school environments or start-up schools
  • Involvement in curriculum development or school accreditation processes
  • Leadership or mentoring experience within academic teams
  • Strong use of data-driven instruction and educational technology
