Brief Role Description: Cardiac Technician
Narayana Health is establishing a strategic team to bring healthcare closer to patients. This initiative focuses on setting up easily accessible primary and secondary care services, supported by responsive processes centered on patient needs and satisfaction. The goal is to bridge the gap between Narayana Health's in-hospital offerings and patients everyday healthcare needs, providing a continuum of tailored care.
In this role, the Technician will perform routine electrocardiography (ECG), Treadmill Test (TMT), and Echo procedures in the clinic. The incumbent will also provide Holter Monitor hook-ups as needed for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Holter Monitor Management: Complete lead placement, calibration, and operation of a Holter Monitor.
- ECG Readings: Complete electrocardiograph readings on patients as requested.
- Paperwork & Processing: Prepare and process paperwork for electrocardiograph readings for physician review.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment and restock supplies.
- Accurate Logging: Maintain accurate logs of patient information regarding electrocardiograph readings, Holter requests, Cardiac studies, and assist in maintaining filing cards and patient folders.
- Billing: Prepare and process billing paperwork.
- Stress Test Operations: Operate sophisticated computerized data acquisition equipment used in obtaining electrocardiograms of patients undergoing various stress procedures.
- Patient Monitoring: Assist the stress test proctor in monitoring patients throughout the course of the procedure.
- Training: Participate in training other Cardiac Technician positions in special procedures.
- Specialized Medical Procedures: Perform medical procedures involving a treadmill/bicycle exercise tolerance test, Thallium, Muga, and oxygen consumption stress tests.
Successful Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in verbal communication in English and Kannada/Hindi. Any additional local language proficiency is an added advantage.
- Technical Qualification: A Diploma/B.Sc. (Echo Cardiograph).
- Academic Qualification: A Graduate/Postgraduate degree.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Patient Care Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care.
- Functional Ability: Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.
- Work Ethic: Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
- Organizational Skills: Good organizational and time management skills.
- Planning: Ability to plan and organize one's work schedule effectively
