Description
We are seeking a skilled E/M IP Coder / Senior Coder to join our team in Omega Healthcare. The ideal candidate will have 1-10 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in Evaluation and Management (E/M) and inpatient coding. This role is critical in ensuring accurate coding and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations for both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of current coding practices and updates in the healthcare industry.
- Participate in audits and quality assurance processes to ensure coding accuracy.
- Provide training and support to junior coders and new team members.
Skills and Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
- Graduation in Life sciences is mandatory.
