Your impact

For our growing Legal Ethics & Compliance Team, we are looking for a Due Diligence Specialist who will be responsible for supporting operations related to anti-bribery and corruption regulations. You will cooperate closely with many departments (Legal, Procurement, Supplier Qualifications) as well as with employees. You will work under supervision of the VP and Deputy Counsel, Legal Ethics & Compliance.

Scope of duties

  • Assessing risk classification of potential clients and third parties (vendors, sales agents, JV Partners, representatives)
  • Conducting due diligence, which may include, but is not limited to, internet searches, financial and legal database searches, requesting and reviewing due diligence reports prepared by vendor
  • Analysing due diligence documents for completion, accuracy, and red flags
  • Reviewing and approving enquiries and submissions
  • Advising supplier qualification and procurement teams on completion/accuracy of due diligence documents
  • Escalating red flags to compliance counsel as necessary
  • Developing audit processes and programs that integrate required systems to achieve directives
  • Identifying any gaps or root causes related to known Red Flags
  • Generating action plans or other appropriate responses for process improvements
  • Working with management on any implementation of best practices or process improvements
  • Assisting LEC team with investigations and audits
  • Assisting with management of compliance database systems

Here's what you'll need

  • A bachelor's degree in law from a reputable university
  • Experience in conducting compliance, financial or accounting audits or investigations
  • Experience of working in multinational corporations
  • Knowledge of foreign languages other than English is a plus, but not a requirement
  • 1-4 years of legal, business or analytical experience in compliance, Due Diligence, KYC or a similar area
  • Knowledge of anti-corruption legislation, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and UK Bribery Act
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze compliance data to determine accuracy, reasonableness, and red flags
  • Understanding of risks associated with diverse scopes of work and international locations
  • Self-starter and ability to work under time pressure
  • Advanced English skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong communication skills ability to translate legal requirements into business operations
  • Motivation to work in multinational environment and provide support to Jacobs employees and managers globally
