ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate and innovative Drone & Space Engineer to join our STEM Education Division. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver hands-on drone, rocketry, and space science projects for school students across grade levels. You will be the bridge between cutting-edge aerospace technology and young, curious minds — inspiring the next generation of engineers and scientists.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum & Project Design
• Design age-appropriate drone, rocketry, and space exploration projects for K–12 students
• Develop structured project kits, lesson plans, and activity guides aligned to STEM curricula
• Create simulation exercises and model-building activities on satellite mechanics, orbital dynamics, and propulsion
• Continuously update project content based on latest developments in space and drone technology
School Delivery & Workshops
• Conduct live workshops, demos, and lab sessions at partner schools and events
• Facilitate competitions such as drone racing, rocketry challenges, and space mission simulations
• Collaborate with school science and technology teachers to integrate projects into existing classes
• Travel to school campuses as required for program delivery
Technical & Safety Operations
• Build, test, and maintain drones, model rockets, and related hardware used in school programs
• Ensure all activities comply with DGCA regulations, local safety standards, and school safety policies
• Train student participants in safe handling of drones, launch systems, and electronic components
• Document technical builds, materials inventory, and incident/safety logs
Innovation & R&D
• Research emerging trends in UAV, small satellite (CubeSat), and space education globally
• Prototype new project modules for drones (FPV, autonomous flight) and space (high-altitude balloons, CubeSats)
• Contribute to the company's IP by documenting and publishing project methodologies
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Educational Background
• B.Tech / B.E. in Aerospace, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field (mandatory — fresh graduates and those with up to 2 years of experience are encouraged to apply)
Technical Skills
• Basic hands-on experience building or flying drones / model rockets — academic or personal projects welcome
• Exposure to flight controllers (ArduPilot, PX4) or mission planning tools (Mission Planner, QGroundControl) is a plus
• Foundational electronics knowledge: soldering, sensors, and basic circuit assembly
• Basic programming skills in Python, C++, or Arduino for simple automation or simulation tasks
• Academic understanding of orbital mechanics, propulsion basics, and space systems
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills — ability to engage and inspire students of all ages
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for education and mentoring
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for young, non-technical audiences
NICE TO HAVE
• DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) or equivalent drone operator certification
• Experience with high-altitude balloon payloads or CubeSat design
• Any prior internship, college project, or workshop facilitation experience in STEM is a bonus
• Participation in national/international rocketry or drone competitions (SAE Aero, Team Indus, etc.)
• Knowledge of 3D printing, CAD (Fusion 360, SolidWorks) for hardware prototyping
