About the Role
We are looking for a Drilling Engineer – MSc (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on drilling operations, well engineering, and energy-sector problem-solving.
In this role, you will work with AI-generated outputs related to well planning, drilling fluids, drilling optimization, pressure control, safety procedures, and operational analysis, helping improve how AI models understand and solve complex drilling engineering challenges.
You will collaborate with global AI and engineering teams to assess the technical accuracy, feasibility, and operational reliability of AI-generated solutions. Your contributions will directly enhance AI systems used for engineering analysis, operational planning, and industrial decision-making in the energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing common requests within your professional domain, including drilling workflows, operational planning, engineering calculations, and optimization strategies
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated responses related to drilling engineering concepts and field operations
- Review peer-developed deliverables to enhance AI research quality and consistency
- Diagnose and solve complex drilling and well engineering challenges to improve AI reasoning capabilities
- Assess AI outputs for technical accuracy, operational feasibility, efficiency, and safety compliance
- Identify incorrect assumptions, operational risks, or ineffective engineering recommendations in AI-generated solutions and provide structured feedback
- Contribute domain expertise to improve AI models focused on drilling operations, well systems, and energy engineering applications
Requirements
- MSc in Drilling Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field
- Strong understanding of drilling operations, well planning, drilling fluids, pressure control, and safety standards
- Familiarity with drilling equipment, field operations, and engineering workflows
- Experience with industry software, technical reports, or operational analysis tools is preferred
- Ability to critically evaluate engineering calculations, operational procedures, and technical recommendations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
