Job Description

Role Summary:

The role is responsible for planning, designing, and delivering stormwater drainage systems for road, highway, and land development projects. It involves performing hydrological and hydraulic analyses, developing drainage layouts, and designing culverts, sewer networks, and sustainable drainage solutions. It requires strong expertise in hydraulic modeling, stormwater management, flood risk assessment, and the use of industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, and InfoWorks.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver comprehensive stormwater drainage and water management designs for transportation and land development projects.

Perform hydrological and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software such as HEC-RAS, StormCAD, InfoWorks, SWMM, or equivalent tools.

Design drainage infrastructure including culverts, storm sewers, detention and retention systems, channels, and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS).

Prepare drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, hydraulic calculations, and technical design reports.

Develop detailed engineering drawings and design documentation using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Conduct drainage capacity assessments and identify effective mitigation solutions for flood-prone areas.

Coordinate closely with highway, roadway, utility, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless project integration.

Review project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with local and international guidelines.

Support project delivery through design reviews, technical presentations, and client coordination.

Participate in value engineering initiatives to optimize drainage solutions while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualification and Required Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline.

5–10 years of experience in drainage, stormwater, or hydraulic design for infrastructure, road, or land development projects.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, StormCAD, InfoWorks, or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of stormwater management, drainage network design, culvert and sewer design, and flood risk assessment.

Experience preparing technical reports, design calculations, and engineering documentation.

Understanding of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and relevant design standards and regulations.
