Job Title: .NET Developer (Web API / Web Services – XML Processing & Security)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled .NET Developer to design and build secure, scalable Web APIs / Web Services that can receive XML-based request packets from external applications and persist the data to the server file system. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend development using .NET, XML processing, API security, and collaboration within Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop RESTful Web APIs / SOAP Web Services using .NET (C#)
- Build secure endpoints to receive XML request payloads from external systems
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for API consumers
- Parse, validate, and process incoming XML data
- Store XML/data files securely on the server file system
- Ensure proper error handling, logging, and monitoring
- Implement API security measures (rate limiting, input validation, etc.)
- Write clear JIRA user stories, tasks, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with QA team and support testing activities (SIT/UAT)
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and support production issues
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core / .NET 6+
- Hands-on experience building secure Web APIs or SOAP services
- Experience implementing API authentication & authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys)
- Proficiency in XML parsing (XDocument, XmlReader, serialization/deserialization)
- Experience with file handling and I/O operations in .NET
- Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, REST standards, and API security
- Experience with version control tools like Bitbucket (Git-based workflows)
- Hands-on experience working with JIRA for story writing and tracking
- Experience supporting QA/testing teams during SIT/UAT phases
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with API gateways (Azure API Management, Kong)
- Knowledge of identity providers (Azure AD, Auth0, Okta)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Good to Have:
- Experience handling large XML payloads / batch processing
- Knowledge of XSD validation
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Understanding of data encryption (at rest and in transit)
