Job Description: Consultant Retail & Digital Transformation

Role Summary

We are looking for a Consultant Retail & Digital Transformation to support strategic advisory engagements focused on store technology modernization, omnichannel transformation, and enterprise digital transformation.

This role requires someone who has worked on retail store technology transformation projects and/or large-scale digital transformation programs, with the ability to work across business and technology stakeholders and create high-quality strategy, technical, and executive-level deliverables.

The individual will work closely with leadership, client stakeholders, architects, and product teams to drive assessments, structure recommendations, and develop transformation roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advisory & Transformation Assessments
  • Conduct assessments across:
  • Store technology ecosystems
  • Omnichannel customer journeys
  • POS and checkout modernization
  • Fulfillment and branch/store operations
  • Enterprise digital capabilities
  • Identify operational, process, and technology gaps
  • Translate findings into actionable transformation recommendations
  • Strategic Documentation & Presentations

Develop Structured Client-facing Deliverables Including:

  • Executive presentations
  • Strategy documents
  • Transformation roadmaps
  • Assessment reports
  • Technical recommendation documents

Ability to convert complex analysis into clear executive narratives is critical.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work Closely With:

  • Business stakeholders
  • Store operations teams
  • Product managers
  • Enterprise architects
  • Engineering teams
  • Client leadership

Facilitate workshops, gather insights, and align stakeholders around recommendations.

  • Transformation Roadmap Development
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business impact and feasibility
  • Define phased modernization plans
  • Support business case and ROI articulation
  • Technical-to-Business Translation

Translate technical findings into business implications.

Example:

Convert system constraints, integration issues, or architecture limitations into measurable business impact across:

  • Time-to-Serve
  • Cost-to-Serve
  • Customer experience
  • Operational efficiency

Required Experience

610 years of experience

Must have worked on one or more of the following:

Retail Store Technology Transformation

Examples:

  • POS modernization
  • Store systems transformation
  • Assisted selling / branch digitization
  • Checkout modernization
  • Order fulfillment transformation

Digital Transformation Programs

Examples:

  • Omnichannel transformation
  • Enterprise platform modernization
  • Commerce transformation
  • Customer experience transformation
  • Product operating model transformation

Preferred Exposure To Retail, Distribution, Or Omnichannel Commerce Environments.
