Job Description

Job Title: Documentation Lead

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 8+ years

Description:

We are looking for a seasoned Documentation Lead with a strong background in authoring software product documentation for end-users. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing high-quality documentation and leading a team of technical writers. Knowledge in developing marketing content such as white papers, brochures, newsletters, and demo scripts is an added advantage.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Mentor: Guide and mentor a team of technical writers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality documentation.
  • Content Development: Analyze, develop, and deliver content for context-sensitive online help systems, user guides, and technical manuals using MSTP.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts to determine necessary content updates and obtain collaborative approval of all new and revised content.
  • Strategy and Design: Provide expertise for product documentation projects and assist in documentation design and delivery strategies for new product offerings.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all documentation meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational quality guidelines.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with editors, other writers, instructional designers, and reviewers to refine content.
  • Innovation: Drive innovation in documentation practices and tools to enhance the user experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in writing, editing, and developing documentation.
  • Technical Writing Expertise: Sound knowledge of technical writing principles, standards, and methods.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent editing, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Good eye for detail, design, and typography, and strong visualization skills.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with content management systems, version control systems, and documentation tools
