Role Summary
The Team Lead Document Review Services is responsible for supervising document review projects and leading review teams to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality project delivery. This role acts as a subject matter expert and first escalation point for reviewers while working closely with Review Managers to manage workflows, maintain quality standards, and meet client service level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
- Review documents for relevance, privilege, and responsiveness based on client guidelines.
- Conduct quality control (QC) reviews to ensure coding accuracy and consistency.
- Create and optimize search queries to identify relevant documents.
- Support preparation of reports, findings, and project summaries.
- Design and implement document review workflows aligned with client requirements.
- Monitor project progress and provide status updates to project leadership.
- Identify and escalate review issues, inconsistencies, or workflow challenges.
- Assist in preparing productivity, quality, and performance metrics.
- Leadership and Team Management
- Lead document review teams of approximately 1020 reviewers.
- Provide guidance on review protocols, coding decisions, and legal issues.
- Act as the first point of escalation for reviewer questions.
- Monitor team productivity, quality, and adherence to project guidelines.
- Support training and onboarding of new reviewers when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- LLB (3-year or 5-year program) or LLM.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in document review or eDiscovery services.
- At least 1 year of experience in a formal team leadership or supervisory role within document review projects
- Familiarity with U.S. litigation processes and legal review methodologies.
- Experience with the deposition process and Antitrust is an asset.
- Hands-on experience with Relativity platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to create and validate advanced search queries.
