Role Summary

The Team Lead Document Review Services is responsible for supervising document review projects and leading review teams to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality project delivery. This role acts as a subject matter expert and first escalation point for reviewers while working closely with Review Managers to manage workflows, maintain quality standards, and meet client service level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Review documents for relevance, privilege, and responsiveness based on client guidelines.
  • Conduct quality control (QC) reviews to ensure coding accuracy and consistency.
  • Create and optimize search queries to identify relevant documents.
  • Support preparation of reports, findings, and project summaries.
  • Design and implement document review workflows aligned with client requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and provide status updates to project leadership.
  • Identify and escalate review issues, inconsistencies, or workflow challenges.
  • Assist in preparing productivity, quality, and performance metrics.
  • Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead document review teams of approximately 1020 reviewers.
  • Provide guidance on review protocols, coding decisions, and legal issues.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for reviewer questions.
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, and adherence to project guidelines.
  • Support training and onboarding of new reviewers when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • LLB (3-year or 5-year program) or LLM.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in document review or eDiscovery services.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a formal team leadership or supervisory role within document review projects
  • Familiarity with U.S. litigation processes and legal review methodologies.
  • Experience with the deposition process and Antitrust is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with Relativity platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to create and validate advanced search queries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High attention to detail and quality standards
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Candidate should be willing to provide support to the US business / US time zone when required, based on project or client needs.
