Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care

  • Conduct patient consultations, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and treatment plans based on current guidelines.
  • Manage both acute and chronic conditions with follow-up and continuity of care.
  • Refer patients to appropriate specialists when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

2. Clinical Procedures

  • Perform minor procedures as per qualification and specialty.
  • Assist in or conduct emergency management like CPR, wound care, catheterization, etc.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
  • Participate in ICU/emergency care management, if applicable.

3. Medical Documentation

  • Maintain clinical notes, discharge summaries, referrals, and reports.
  • Ensure proper medico-legal documentation where necessary.
  • Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems accurately and timely.

4. Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate with nurses, lab technicians, and other specialists for comprehensive care.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and case discussions.
  • Provide health education to patients and families.

5. Compliance & Ethical Practice

  • Follow all hospital protocols, infection control measures, and patient safety standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
  • Stay updated with medical advancements and comply with continuing medical education (CME) requirements.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • MBBS from a recognized institution
  • Valid medical registration (State/National Medical Council)

Desirable (based on level):

  • MD/MS/DNB in a specialty (e.g., Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, etc.)
  • BLS / ACLS / ATLS Certification (for emergency or ICU roles)
  • Clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, or community setting
