The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer will be responsible for endtoend design, development, and execution of marketing automation and digital engagement capabilities on Salesforce Marketing Cloud (MC). The role focuses on building scalable journeys, personalization logic, automations, data models, and channel integrations that enhance customer engagement across email, mobile, web, and advertising platforms.

The developer will work with business, architects, and crossfunctional teams to enable highquality ESaaS digital marketing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Cloud Development

Design and build solutions using Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Mobile Studio, Cloud Pages, and Content Builder.

Develop custom personalization logic using AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, and Data Extensions.

Build and optimize customer journeys including onboarding, nurture, upsell, retention, and lifecycle campaigns.

Implement automations for ETL workflows, data segmentation, audience management, and triggered campaigns.

  • Data & Platform Integration

Use Marketing Cloud Connect to integrate Salesforce CRM with Marketing Cloud.

Map CRM data models to Marketing Cloud DE structures, ensuring alignment with ESaaS data architecture.

Work with REST/SOAP APIs for transactional messages, real-time events, and channel triggers.

  • Campaign Enablement & Optimization

Enable personalization, dynamic content rules, multi-step decision splits, and cross-channel orchestration.

Optimize send strategies, inbox placement, and email deliverability.

Support A/B testing, performance analysis, and continuous improvement.

  • Technical Architecture Support

Translate business and marketing requirements into scalable technical designs.

Collaborate with architects for multi-cloud (Sales, Service, MC) solution alignment.

Ensure adherence to platform governance, security, and compliance standards (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, opt-ins).

  • DevOps & Release Management

Manage deployments through packages, Git-based workflows, Copado/DevOps pipelines.

Maintain version control for journeys, scripts, and automations.

  • Quality Assurance & Documentation

Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT cycles.

Maintain documentation for journeys, automations, architecture, data flows, and reusable assets.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Journey Builder
    • Automation Studio
    • Email Studio & Mobile Studio
    • AMPscript & SSJS
    • SQL for Marketing Cloud (queries, joins, segmentation)
    • Cloud Pages & Landing Pages
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce CRMMC integration, synchronized data sources, and contact model.
  • Knowledge of Send Classification, Delivery Profiles, Sender Authentication, and marketing governance.
  • Experience working with API-triggered sends, event notifications, and real-time messaging.
