Divisional Head – Leather Accessories

Reporting To: Business Head (BH)
Role Overview
The Divisional Head – Leather Accessories will lead the end-to-end business for leather bags, with a strong focus on international sales, onboarding global brands, and expanding export markets.
This role requires a commercially driven leader with deep expertise in leather bags category, strong global network, and proven success in acquiring and scaling international clients/brands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Define and drive the global growth strategy for leather bags division
- Identify priority markets (EU, US, UK, etc.) and build expansion roadmap
- Own division P&L, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth
2. International Sales & Key Account Management
- Drive export sales growth in leather bags across key global markets
- Build and manage relationships with international brands, buying houses, and retailers
- Personally anchor strategic/key accounts and large business opportunities
- Deliver revenue targets, order book visibility, and margin improvement
3. International Brand Onboarding (Critical Focus)
- Identify and onboard global leather bag brands (premium, bridge, and luxury segments)
- Develop tailored pitch strategies and capability presentations
- Lead end-to-end conversion: prospecting → sampling → costing → order closure
- Build long-term partnerships with brands for repeat and scalable business
4. Business Development & Market Expansion
- Develop strong pipeline of new international customers
- Drive participation in global trade fairs, buyer meets, and sourcing events
- Explore new channels: D2C collaborations, private labels, licensing opportunities
- Track global trends in handbags, SLGs (small leather goods), and accessories
5. Product & Market Alignment
- Work closely with design and product teams to align collections with global trends and brand requirements
- Ensure strong capability in handbags, backpacks, totes, and SLGs
- Drive innovation in materials, finishes, and value engineering
6. Team Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performance sales & merchandising team
- Set clear KPIs for customer acquisition, conversion, and revenue growth
- Mentor team on international business development and account management
7. Financial Management
- Own divisional budgeting, forecasting, and profitability
- Drive pricing strategies aligned with market positioning and margins
- Optimize cost structures while maintaining quality and delivery standards
Key Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business / Fashion / Marketing / International Business
- MBA preferred
Experience:
- 15– 25years of experience in leather accessories / handbags industry
- Strong exposure to export business and international client handling
- Proven track record of onboarding international brands and scaling accounts
