Mission of the Role: To Develop Mechanical Architecture for Cockpit Domain Controllers (Silver Box) that use high end processors which need active cooling solutions, pressure die casting, Stringent Ingress protection and ESD & EMC filtering / shielding. Key Objectives of this Role:
The candidate will be responsible for reviewing the customer's specification and develop a mechanical architecture that meets competitive cost targets.
This involves understanding the design performance vs. cost of the different aspects of the design to maximize the customer's value.
Support new business pursuits in multiple regions.
Identify the opportunities in the portfolio and produce standardized designs to use in future efforts.
Compliance to the Process requirements from Visteon and Customer
Communication and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators:
Architect mechanical product which meets the customer requirements and cost targets
Achieve Mechanical milestones defined by the Quote leader & Business group.
Business win of at least one Silver Box program in a year
Key Year One Deliverables:
Take independent responsibility to architecture the Cockpit Domain Controller (Silver Box).
Architecture shall meet the respective guidelines defined in the Visteon process.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in the field of mechanical engineering or related,
At least 10 years experience in Mechanical engineering in the relevant product domain
Experience in Automotive products.
Knowledge in Electro-Mechanical products development.
Experience in Plastic, sheet metal, Diecast parts design.
Design of Heat sinks and Fan Selection.
Knowledge of Thermal Management.
Concept Design knowledge of Metal Casings with high power dissipation.
Knowledge in Coatings/Electroplating, Decorative techniques.
Computer literacy on CATIA V5(3D Part design, GSD, 2D Drawings).
Tolerance stack-up & GD&T
Fluent in verbal and written English.
