Generic Job Summary: The Disaster Recovery Specialist will serve the organization by developing and leading the strategy, planning, implementation, execution, testing, and maintenance for all aspects of Vertiv's Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) processes. The DR Specialist will possess a knowledge of technology and infrastructure and will work closely with Business leaders, Functional teams, and Information Technology to ensure recovery capabilities meet the Recovery Time and Recovery Point objectives as defined by Business Impact Analysis and business requirements
Business Unit Job Summary: Responsible for developing and managing plans and testing for recovery. Works in conjunction with Technology team members, and other stakeholders to create recovery strategies and plans. Tests recovery plans and documents test results. Manages and coordinates technology operational activities and works closely with all business and technology units to mitigate any effects on the ability to conduct business in the event of a disaster.
Responsibilities:
- The Specialist will communicate and train business units on the Business Continuity Management Lifecycle process and work with Technology Teams to ensure and maintain the lifecycle process
- Oversee the documentation of recovery plans and conduct technology tests and exercises
- Lead and support the development and training disaster recovery and crisis management for the organization
- Develop recovery plans. Experience in writing and documenting procedures or processes for technology
- Coordinate the review, maintenance and testing of recovery plans for core business functions, infrastructure services and applications
- Testing experience in performing various types of recovery testing. This includes Tabletop, Technology Tests, Functional Testing, Vendor, Datacenters, Telecom, Infrastructure, etc.
- Crisis Management experience in supporting crisis meetings and managing disaster events for technology
- Experience with vendors working with vendors on recovery planning and testing
- Reporting assists the Business Continuity Director in the reporting of the progress and compliance of business continuity processes, readiness, events and test or exercise results, reporting function
- Must speak fluent English and be able to work with various business functions across the organization and across the globe
Requirements:
- Experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Technology, Information Security, Risk Management, or related field
- Knowledge of Disaster Recovery practices and protocols, including in-depth knowledge of international Business Continuity Methodology standards promoted by Business Continuity Institute and International Organization of Standards, Disaster Recovery Institute International
- Knowledge of ISO 22301 standards
- Reasonable depth of exposure or understanding of Business Continuity Management processes and best practices.
- High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail with when it comes to technology disaster recovery
- Must have strong proficiency with SharePoint, MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word. Smartsheet experience is a plus
- Incident or crisis management experience
- Must be self-starter, adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction and little or no supervision while working in a complex and changing environment
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and make recommendations for resolution
- Demonstrated leadership, strong dedication to teamwork and integrity within professional environment.

- 3-5 years of experience
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, with 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
- Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) is a plus
- Certification in a related field
