GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
A senior leadership role structured to build and grow the presence of a highly dynamic, fast paced organization in Maharashtra (and few other states such as Goa, Madhya Pradesh etc).
The candidate must have demonstrated track record in building organizational capability, driving growth and brand value, and the ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders spanning senior government leaders to bureaucracy to business leaders as well as community partners. Expertise in navigating the state-level business and policy environment is key.
This position reports to the Managing Director of the India office at the US India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF).
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Build a brand presence in the key Western and Central Indian states.
- Engage and deepen existing partnerships with the state government stakeholders, U.S. and other key consulates, regulators, and policy institutions in the region.
- Have a regular interface with industry members of USISPF based in the region.
- Track policy and regulatory developments in Western region and build a capability for action/ outcome oriented advocacy.
- Build and institutionalize strategic partnerships in the region.
- Engage with business leaders and create a local network with a special focus on the financial services industry in the state.
- Curate and host strategic programming - with local governments/ policy/ geopolitical dialogues/ CXO programs etc. to support and grow regional engagement
- Grow USISPF membership base through connecting with new companies and industry leaders based in the region.
- Represent USISPF in public forums & industry discussions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 12 - 15 years of experience
- Strong understanding of India, especially the business and Government ecoystem and stakeholders across the Western states.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry will be positively considered.
- Experience of working with government agencies, think tanks, or multinational technology companies is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Master's degree in public policy, international relations, capital markets, banking, law, economics, or a related field is preferred.

- Highly effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at highest corporate, political and educational institution levels.
- Ability to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality and integrity, with a strong professional reputation in the industry.
- Self-starter with proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization and cultures as well as working independently.
- Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects about corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals.
- Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others as required. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen.
