Job Description

As the Director of Product Design, you will be the visionary leader responsible for defining and elevating the entire user experience across our core product experiences and platforms. You will build, mentor, and lead a world-class team of product designers, establishing the strategic direction, design standards, and operational processes for the design function.

This role demands a compelling blend of design mastery, strategic business acumen, and inspirational leadership to drive innovation and measurable impact on our key business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Design Strategy & Vision: Define, articulate, and champion a holistic, long-term product design vision and strategy that aligns with overall company goals and market opportunities.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, inspire, and manage a high-performing team of Product Designers and Design Leads, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth. Provide mentorship, guidance, and critical feedback to elevate the team's design craft and strategic influence.
  • Executive Collaboration & Influence: Partner with senior product, engineering, and business leaders to align design initiatives with business objectives, secure resources, and drive cross-functional buy-in.
  • Design System & Governance: Oversee the evolution, adoption, and governance of the design system as a strategic asset, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all products and platforms.
  • Strategic Research & Insight: Champion and invest in advanced user research, data analysis, and market trend analysis to ensure design decisions are grounded in deep user empathy and measurable business impact.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish and optimize design processes, workflows, and tools to maximize the team's efficiency, scalability, and impact in an agile development environment.
  • Impact Measurement & Accountability: Define and track design effectiveness metrics in partnership with Product and Business leadership, regularly track and report on the effectiveness of design solutions, and ensure the team is focused on delivering measurable value to the business and users.

  • Visionary & Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to translate complex business challenges and user needs into a clear, compelling, and executable design strategy for a large-scale product portfolio.
  • Inspirational Leadership: Exceptional track record of successfully leading, mentoring, and scaling Product Design teams, creating a positive, results-driven, and high-trust work environment.
  • Organizational Influence: Masterful communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design value to executive stakeholders and influence product roadmaps at the highest levels.
  • Design and Craft Acumen: Deep, contemporary expertise in UX/UI principles, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design systems, with a relentless focus on quality and innovation.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical abilities and experience leveraging quantitative and qualitative data (research, A/B testing, analytics) to inform strategic design direction and measure impact.
  • Agile and Scalable Mindset: Proven comfort and effectiveness working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative agile environment, ensuring design can scale with evolving product needs and technology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in UX/Product Design roles, including at least 3+ years in managerial or mentorship roles overseeing multiple product teams or a major product line.
  • A strong, demonstrable portfolio and history of shaping large-scale, successful digital products and driving significant business results through design.
  • Proven experience defining and executing a scalable design strategy aligned to product and business priorities
