Professionals in TPI are involved in live engagements from the outset, contributing to analysis, execution and client deliverables in coordination with colleagues across the firm. The Director, Turnaround Restructuring Services (TRS) role at Portage Point represents a unique opportunity to lead and shape the TRS practice while driving meaningful impact on complex, high-stakes client challenges. As a key leader within the TRS practice, this Director will manage discrete workflows across the full spectrum of restructuring, distressed advisory and operational transformation work – from situational assessment and stabilization initiatives, restructuring strategy development and overall financial and operational value creation plan execution. Reporting to the Head of TPI, this Director will lead oversee discrete workstreams and proposal development, manage team skill development and collaborate with cross-functional partners in finance, operations and transaction advisory to deliver integrated solutions. Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders and U.S.-based clients to develop solutions to complex operational and financial challenges across the business lifecycle including formulating and implementing value creation, business transformation and performance improvement plans, contingency planning and bankruptcy preparation / execution
  • Lead liquidity management (cash flow forecasting, treasury operations and stakeholder communications), case administration (filing preparation, bankruptcy reporting, claims support), and support formulation of business and restructuring plans
  • Develop detailed financial projections and business plans tailored to client situations
  • Lead executive reporting package preparation including KPIs, thirteen-week cash flows (TWCFs), financial performance analysis, budget reviews, board presentations, and stakeholder communications
  • Synthesize complex business drivers, situational analysis and underlying complexity to advise clients and maximize value
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members
  • Support business development and client relationship efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a top undergraduate program required
  • Willing to relocate to or be primarily present in Gurgaon
  • 11 plus years of experience at a top-tier advisory firm serving U.S. clients, leading business operations and Chapter 11 restructuring
  • Full mastery of financial modeling including ability to review three statement models, TWCFs, dynamic KPI packages and complex ad hoc analysis
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills
  • Proven ability to thrive in lean, collaborative team environments
  • High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
  • Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments
