Role Description

  • As a strategic technology leader within one of Europe's premier global financial institutions, you will shape the next generation of Document Management capabilities in a dynamic, agile environment that champions innovation, collaboration, and highperformance delivery. This role places you at the forefront of The bank Bank's technology transformation, with the mandate and influence to redefine core platforms supporting missioncritical business processes across the organization.
  • Operating within an ecosystem designed to accelerate growth, you will collaborate with exceptional engineering and product talent to drive gamechanging solutions that modernize how the bank manages, secures, and leverages its vast enterprise data.
  • Within Corporate and Shared Functions Technology, the Shared Applications and Services (SAS) unit owns the bank's complete Document Management landscape. A major strategic programme is underway to migrate petabytes of businesscritical content from legacy systems to a new product, which is an inhouse, cloudnative Document Management platform built on GCP. As Product Director, you will define, lead, and execute this transformation endtoend.
  • Your leadership will be pivotal in orchestrating largescale data migration across highavailability systems, aligning crossfunctional stakeholders, governing multiyear delivery streams, and ensuring stability of legacy platforms throughout the transition. This role demands seasoned judgment, executive communication, deep product and technology understanding, and the ability to guide a highperforming team through complex change.

Your key responsibilities

  • Design and drive the enterprisewide migration strategy for multiple highvolume tenant applications, ensuring a seamless transition from legacy platforms to the new cloudnative Document Management solution.
  • Engage deeply with each tenant application to understand functional nuances, deviations, and regulatory constraints, translating them into scalable, futureready product capabilities.
  • Champion the product narrative, clearly articulating the roadmap, value proposition, and transformation milestones to senior stakeholders through governance forums, executive updates, and client engagements.
  • Secure and manage multiyear strategic funding, aligning investment with business value, risk reduction, and modernization priorities.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Records Management to govern defensible document deletion on legacy platforms, including systems under legal hold or regulatory scrutiny.
  • Establish strong governance structures that drive transparency, predictability, and risk visibility across the endtoend migration programme.
  • Ensure operational resilience and compliance of legacy Document Management systems throughout the multiyear transition - overseeing cyber hygiene, patching, vulnerability remediation, audit closure, and platformlevel controls.
  • Collaborate closely with core engineering teams, influencing product evolution through insights derived from tenant adoption, usage patterns, and crossfunctional requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a highperforming technology team, fostering engagement, capability development, and strong delivery culture during the modernization cycle.
  • Manage vendor partnerships and delivery capacity, ensuring continuity of expertise, optimal staffing, and scalable throughput across programme phases.

Your skills and experience

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in largescale product, technology, or client service management roles within financial services, with a proven track record of delivering complex transformation programmes.
  • Strong executivelevel stakeholder management, with the ability to navigate diverse groups, influence decisionmaking, and resolve competing priorities across technology, operations, compliance, and senior leadership.
  • Deep programme and governance expertise, including designing structured delivery frameworks, defining milestones, and ensuring transparency across senior forums.
  • Extensive experience in audit, regulatory engagement, and risk management, with the ability to lead audits, close findings, and embed sustainable compliance mechanisms.
  • Strong grounding in technology controls and platform hygiene, including cyber hygiene, vulnerability management, RACER, patching, and production stability practices.
  • Handson experience running modernization and migration programmes in complex legacy environments, from application onboarding to system consolidation and business continuity planning.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to deliver clarity to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Highly structured, selfdriven, and organized, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and highstakes environments.
  • Demonstrated excellence in vendor management, ensuring quality delivery, consistent capacity, and optimal performance from strategic partners.
