Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Director – Technology (Full Stack) to lead the architecture, development, scalability, and modernization of Affinity's AdTech and publisher technology platforms.

This role requires strong expertise across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, scalable distributed systems, and high-performance engineering environments. The ideal candidate should bring hands-on technical depth along with strong engineering leadership capabilities to drive platform innovation and execution at scale.

The role will involve close collaboration with Product, Data Science, Ad Operations, and Business teams to build reliable, scalable, and future-ready advertising technology products.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Architecture

• Define and drive the technology roadmap for scalable Full Stack and platform engineering initiatives.
• Lead architectural design decisions across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Build scalable, low-latency, high-availability applications handling large traffic volumes and real-time data processing.
• Ensure engineering best practices around scalability, security, observability, maintainability, and performance optimization.

Full Stack Engineering Ownership

• Lead development across frontend and backend systems using modern engineering frameworks and technologies.
• Oversee scalable UI architecture using React.js / modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Drive backend and platform engineering using Java, Python, PHP, Golang, or Node.js ecosystems.
• Design and optimize APIs, caching layers, databases, and messaging systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on reusable component architecture and platform standardization.

Platform Scalability & Cloud Infrastructure

• Champion cloud-native architecture using GCP / AWS environments.
• Drive distributed systems engineering, scalability improvements, and infrastructure optimization.
• Ensure platform reliability, deployment automation, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems.
• Optimize performance for high-throughput and low-latency applications.

AdTech & Data Ecosystem

• Work on large-scale AdTech / MarTech / Publisher platforms.
• Collaborate on audience systems, targeting engines, campaign workflows, monetization systems, and analytics platforms.
• Partner with Product and Data teams on AI/ML-driven optimization initiatives.
• Ensure scalable data pipelines and analytics-driven engineering decisions.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Mentor and scale high-performing engineering teams.
• Work closely with Product, Business, Sales, and Operations teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in leadership discussions involving platform strategy, engineering scalability, and product innovation.
• Drive engineering culture, ownership, and execution excellence across teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10–15+ years of experience in software engineering with strong Full Stack development exposure.
• 4–6+ years of experience in engineering leadership / team management roles.
• Strong experience in scalable product engineering environments, preferably within AdTech, MarTech, MediaTech, SaaS, or high-scale consumer technology ecosystems.
• Deep expertise in frontend technologies including:
• React.js
• JavaScript (ES6+)
• HTML5 / CSS3
• AJAX
• Modern frontend architecture
• Strong backend engineering expertise in:
• Java
• Python
• PHP
• Golang / Node.js (good to have)
• Strong understanding of:

• Experience with:

• Proven experience building scalable, low-latency, high-throughput applications.

Good to Have

• Exposure to DSP, DMP, SSP, RTB, Publisher Monetization, or Ad Serving platforms.
• Experience with AI/ML-driven systems and real-time analytics.
• Knowledge of Big Data ecosystems such as Hadoop, Spark, ClickHouse, or BigQuery.
• Experience handling large-scale traffic and consumer-facing platforms.
