Role Overview
Unacademy is looking for a highly driven and strategic Director - Strategy to join the CEO's Office and work directly with the CEO on high-impact business priorities across Unacademy business verticals.
This role will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives, business planning, growth opportunities, and P&L oversight across multiple business lines. The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels - someone who can translate vision into actionable outcomes while influencing cross-functional teams at scale.
This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to leadership decisions, business performance, and organization-wide growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & CEO Office Initiatives
- Work closely with the CEO on strategic priorities across Unacademy online business verticals
- Drive business planning, market expansion opportunities, and growth initiatives across categories
- Translate organizational goals into actionable business plans with clear ownership and timelines
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth, operational efficiency, and long-term scalability
P&L Oversight & Business Performance
- Drive strategic oversight of P&L across multiple business lines
- Monitor and analyse key business metrics including revenue, profitability, growth, retention, CAC, and ROI
- Lead business reviews, forecasting, and performance tracking for leadership discussions
- Partner with Finance and Business teams to improve efficiency and optimize resource allocation
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, Growth, Finance, and Operations teams
- Ensure alignment between strategic priorities and execution across functions
- Act as a central driver for key business initiatives and execution tracking
- Influence stakeholders across teams to drive business outcomes with speed and ownership
Growth & Operational Excellence
- Identify operational bottlenecks and drive scalable solutions across business functions
- Build frameworks, dashboards, and operating cadences to improve business visibility and decision-making
- Lead high-priority strategic projects from ideation to execution
- Drive a data-first culture with strong focus on measurable outcomes
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with senior leadership and founders on organization-wide strategic initiatives
- Prepare executive-level business presentations, insights, and recommendations
- Manage internal stakeholders across multiple business functions with high ownership and accountability
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 6-9 years of experience in Strategy, Consulting, Business Operations, Growth, Founder's Office, or General Management roles
- Strong exposure to business strategy, revenue planning, and cross-functional execution
- Prior experience in high-growth start-up or consumer internet environments preferred
- Proven ability to manage complex business problems and drive execution independently
- Experience working closely with leadership teams or founders is highly preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to decision-making
