Role Overview:
The Director is responsible for organizing, leading, evaluating, and supervising the teaching staff, while making appropriate decisions to enhance teaching, learning, and research activities within a school or a group of schools. The Director is supported by academic leaders in providing instructional leadership, as well as in the development and implementation of curricula and detailed teaching plans for academic programs. He/She reports to the Vice Chancellor (VC) and is entrusted with the following duties and responsibilities.
- To monitor the activities of the school/ cluster, its day-to-day activities, and to maintain discipline in the schools.
- To work in tandem with the directors, academic coordinators, course coordinators, program chairs and teachers to improve the teaching and learning processes.
- To plan and supervise faculty meetings, orientations, training programmes, faculty development programs, and workshops.
- To support and participate in school/ cluster and community related activities.
- To plan the budget, and schedule the resources for school/ cluster and community related activities.
- To coordinate with the academic departments in sharing faculty and other educational and instructional ideas and activities.
- To develop educational processes, interactive educational programs, and policies to meet the curriculum goals.
- To manage faculty resources, administrative staff members and other resources of the school/ cluster and sets the workload of the faculties.
- To oversee stock books, periodicals, e-resources and other library supplies as needed by the school/ cluster in coordination with the department faculties and the library.
- To oversee faculty recruitment, retention, and continuing professional development including particular attention to recruiting and retaining faculty of diverse backgrounds.
- To ensure examinations including paper setting, quality and result declaration in time as per University standards in coordination with the Registrar of Evaluation.
- To help the school to create flyers, banners, brochures and other promotional materials.
- To plan the faculty recruitment, duties of the professors of practice, and industry linkage programs in coordination with the directors.
- To represent the school and the university through participation in community and corporate activities, meetings, and events across the region and the country.
- To setup new facilities in the school/ cluster in collaboration with the directors as mentioned in the vision and mission statements, and core values of the university.
- To promote the student exchange programs through national and international exchange programs for students through the OIR. Facilitation of Global Immersion Programme for students and faculty.
- To set up incubation centers, centers of excellence, and modern laboratories for the students as mentioned in the vision and mission statements, and core values of the university.
- Build and strengthen the relationships with the State and Central Governments autonomous bodies, professional associations and other Indian and foreign Universities.
- To plan and run the online courses as per the requirements of the programs.
- To identify new certification programs on emerging skill sets.
- To plan emerging programs to be included in the school/cluster for next academic year.
- Help admissions and marketing teams by strategy planning for all the courses of the school/ cluster with timeline and targets.
- To handle any specific duties related to the training and placement activities as directed by the VC or the management.
Education:
- Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) in a relevant field (Architecture).
- Certification course in related discipline, A commitment to fostering research and innovation within engineering and technology fields is often expected.
Experience Required:
- 20 – 25 yrs , Student Centered Approach A focus on student success, academic progress, and the quality of the learning experience is essential.
Skills Required:
- A strong academic background with a distinguished record of teaching, research, and scholarship in the (Cluster Management & Humanities) field. This includes a substantial publication record in reputable journals and conferences. Extensive experience as a professor with a proven track records.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including budget management, strategic planning, and staff supervision, are important for overseeing the Cluster Management & Humanities department.
