Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the reliability and accuracy of our commercial real estate loan servicing platform. You will be responsible for developing test strategies, building automation frameworks, and validating that our software meets the highest quality standards for handling billions of dollars in loan data. This role is critical to delivering a platform that our clients can trust for accurate financial calculations and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy and Planning
- Develop comprehensive test strategies for loan servicing platform features
- Create and maintain test plans aligned with product requirements
- Define test coverage metrics and quality gates
- Estimate testing efforts and resource requirements
- Identify and assess risks related to software quality
- Establish quality standards and acceptance criteria
Test Automation
- Design and implement automated test frameworks for UI and API testing
- Develop automated regression test suites for critical loan workflows
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain and enhance existing automation infrastructure
- Implement data-driven and keyword-driven testing approaches
- Build automated performance and load testing solutions
Manual and Exploratory Testing
- Execute manual test cases for complex loan servicing scenarios
- Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases and defects
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) support and coordination
- Test financial calculations and loan data accuracy
- Validate integrations with third-party systems and APIs
- Perform cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility testing
Defect Management and Reporting
- Document and track defects with detailed reproduction steps
- Prioritize defects based on severity and business impact
- Verify defect fixes and conduct regression testing
- Generate quality metrics and test execution reports
- Communicate quality status to stakeholders and leadership
- Analyze defect trends and recommend process improvements
Collaboration and Process Improvement
- Partner with Engineering teams in agile ceremonies and sprint planning
- Collaborate with Product Management on requirements clarification
- Work with Data teams to validate data integrity and transformations
- Participate in code reviews from a testability perspective
- Document testing procedures, best practices, and guidelines
- Mentor team members on testing techniques and tools
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance
- Strong proficiency in test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, or similar)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, Java)
- Experience with agile methodologies and test management tools (Jira, TestRail)
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies
- Knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or SaaS environments
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, k6)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- ISTQB or similar QA certification
- Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)
- Familiarity with security testing and compliance requirements
