Job Purpose
Head of Procurement will be responsible for leading Procurement and Purchasing strategy for APAC region across all spend categories, including Operations, IT, HR and Legal, and all Corporate Functions.
He/she will be responsible to develop and implement a strategy to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings, maintain strategic supplier relationships and manage the development of contracts, contractual relationships, executing supplier agreements, contract management; to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services.
He/she will be responsible for ensuring that vendors accept the contractual standards by managing RFP's and creating an overall sourcing strategy that seeks to maximize value.
Roles and Responsibilities
Head the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations for APAC region.
- Ensure robust and effective policies and processes in commensuration with the size and current + future needs of the business operations.
- Lead and manage Procurement Shared Services for US parent comprising of 4-10 team members and responsible for delivery KPI's and SLAs.
- Partnering closely with senior leadership across all Functions to ensure business needs are effectively supported.
- Be a strategic partner to business driving economic value through contractual risk mitigation, cost-saving & cost-avoidance which can be reinvested back into driving organizational growth.
- Managing the procurement lifecycle with current and future vendors, managing vendor relationships, monitoring contract expirations, ensure smooth change management, stakeholder alignment.
- Representing company in commercial negotiations with vendors to drive favorable pricing and terms and ensure risk mitigation. Lead strategic, potentially complex, multi-faceted negotiations with vendors, including technical service providers critical to day-to-day operations and long term success.
- Creating and implementing best practice purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid business performance and support business growth.
- Manage the annual Purchasing budget and forecasts and lead Capital Expenditure proposals including new geography expansion and facility + IT buildout projects.
- Developing and communicating procurement best practices across the organization. As a strategic partner to the business - develop, communicate, and implement an engagement model for the business built on procurement best practices.
- Creating and monitoring procurement KPI's/metrics, develop metrics to measure procurement's impact on the organization and track progress to goals.
- Manage the compliances and logistics attached by working in both SEZ and non-SEZ environments.
- Flag opportunities for strategic sourcing are based on repeated tactical buys that can be converted into a repeatable sourcing strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a reputed institute.
- 13+ years experience in Procurement, Supplier Management with 5+ years of experience in heading the procurement function of 17,000+ FTEs organization.
- Strong Procurement background ideally with Proven expertise in leading purchasing strategy for a multi-geography organization. Proven experience negotiating across multiple industries, services, products & agreement types.
- Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets.
- Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels, Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Sound understanding of laws, regulations and experience in operating in both SEZ and STPI environment (Good to have).
- Excellent data analysis and presentation skills, ability to disseminate complex data and information into actions and desired outcomes.
- General understanding of Legal terms, Accounting Principles & Financial Planning.
- In-depth understanding of the supplier marketplace across multiple categories; deep industry and/or professional relationships with vendors in the categories is a plus.
- Proficient in Salesforce and Oracle tools (good to have), Excel, Power Point, and Word.
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize complex and technical information into clear recommendations.
