Ripik.ai is an Accel-backed Applied AI company building computer vision and process-optimization agents for the world's largest industrial enterprises across steel, cement, aluminum, chemicals, pharma, and power. Our Vision AI platform acts as an automated pair of eyes on the shop floor — monitoring materials, equipment, and processes 24/7 with 95%+ accuracy, eliminating human error, and delivering measurable gains in throughput, yield, energy efficiency, and safety.
We work with marquee customers including Tata Steel, JSW, ArcelorMittal, Vedanta, Godrej & Boyce, Grasim, Holcim, and Jindal Steel, and are scaling globally across India, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. As we move into our next phase of growth, we are building the operating backbone that will take Ripik from a high-velocity scale-up to a category-defining global industrial AI company.
The Role
We are looking for a Director of Pre-Sales & Technical Sales — a rare combination of deep industrial domain knowledge and applied AI fluency — to own the technical dimension of our enterprise sales cycle. You will be the bridge between Ripik's AI platform and the business realities of complex industrial buyers, translating customer pain points into compelling, ROI-backed solution narratives and winning proposals.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role operating at the intersection of engineering, strategy, and revenue. You will work closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to shape how Ripik.AI is positioned and sold across India and global markets.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Engineering & Proposal Leadership:
- Own end-to-end RFP/RFI responses, technical proposals, and solution design documents for enterprise industrial AI opportunities.
- Translate complex industrial use cases (quality control, predictive maintenance, process optimization, safety monitoring) into tailored Ripik.AI solution architectures.
- Develop and maintain a library of proposal templates, case studies, and solution blueprints across verticals (steel, cement, chemicals, pharma, power).
- Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) scoping, design, and delivery in collaboration with engineering teams.
Pre-Sales Engagement
- Serve as the technical authority in customer-facing meetings, workshops, and site visits with plant heads, CXOs, and engineering teams.
- Conduct discovery sessions to uncover operational pain points and map them to Ripik's platform capabilities.
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations, solution walkthroughs, and value engineering presentations.
- Build business cases with quantified ROI models tailored to the customer's operational context.
Commercial & Strategic Support
- Partner with Account Executives to develop deal strategy, qualification, and pricing architecture for complex multi-site deployments.
- Provide inputs to the Product team on feature gaps, integration requirements, and emerging customer needs.
- Contribute to competitive intelligence — understanding how Ripik compares to other industrial AI vendors, automation players, and incumbent solutions.
- Support contract negotiations with technical risk assessment and implementation scoping.
Scaling The Pre-Sales Function
- Build, mentor, and grow a team of solution engineers and pre-sales consultants as the company scales.
- Define and institutionalize pre-sales processes, tools, and knowledge management systems.
- Represent Ripik.AI at industry events, conferences, and customer roundtables.
Qualifications & Experience
- 6+ years of total professional experience, with a minimum of 3–4 years in pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical sales for AI, industrial software, or automation solutions.
- B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering from a Tier 1 institution.
- Demonstrated track record of drafting and winning complex technical proposals and RFP responses in B2B enterprise contexts.
- Deep understanding of industrial operations — manufacturing processes, plant instrumentation, OT/IT environments, or industrial IoT.
- Experience in any of: IT services companies, Robotics/Automation companies, or Industrial AI / Computer Vision companies.
- Strong ability to build ROI models and business cases for operational technology investments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills — comfortable with both plant engineers and C-suite buyers.
Good To Have
- Prior experience with computer vision, machine learning, or AI/ML platforms in industrial settings.
- Exposure to process industries: steel, cement, aluminium, chemicals, pharma, or power generation.
- Familiarity with SCADA, DCS, MES, ERP systems, or industrial data historians (PI, OSIsoft)
What can you expect
- Ability to shape the future of manufacturing by leveraging best-in-class AI and software; we are a unique organization with niche skill set that you would also develop while working with us
- World class work culture, coaching and development
- Mentoring from highly experienced leadership from world class companies (refer to Ripik.AI website for details)
- International exposure
