Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned, visionary, and results-driven leader with over 15-20 years of rich experience in campus placements, corporate engagement, strategic academic-industry partnerships and strong passion for career guidance with a 100% student centric approach. The Director Career Development Services will play a pivotal role in shaping the career journeys of students across Engineering, Management, Law & Liberal Studies disciplines.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership: Manage a team of Career Development Services (CDS) members & student body efficiently to ensure 100% delivery of the assigned target within the given timeline
- Strategic Placement Leadership
- Develop and implement a robust, forward-looking university placement roadmap that aligns with current and emerging industry needs.
- Ensure maximum placement outcomes for graduating students across Engineering, Management, Law & Liberal studies streams through targeted engagement with national and global employers.
- Oversee and review placement metrics, employer feedback, and institutional outcomes with a data-driven, analytical approach.
Corporate Relations & Industry Connect
- Build and sustain high-impact partnerships with reputed corporates, law firms, consulting companies, PSUs, and multinationals across diverse sectors.
- Leverage industry relationships for an extended & holistic engagement for university which includes students placements, internships, live projects, consultancy , industry visits as a primary objective and support other key stakeholders of the university.
- Represent the institution at national and international forums, conclaves, and hiring summits, promoting its brand and expanding employer network.
Student Development, Mentorship & Expectation Management
- Bridge skill gaps by collaborating with faculty, training vendors, and curriculum design teams to ensure students are industry ready.
- Lead student employability initiatives through customized training programs, including soft skills, communication, aptitude, and domain-specific preparation.
- Provide personalized mentorship and career coaching to students, enabling them to align their strengths with industry requirements and set their expectation management.
Institutional Branding & Events
- Conceptualize and host corporate summits, industry-academia dialogues and employer branding events.
- Publish audited annual placement reports, brochures, and communication campaigns that strategically position the institution in the talent market
- Enhance institutional visibility through active engagement on digital platforms, alumni networks, and employer feedback systems.
Operational Excellence
- Drive transparent, ethical, and compliant placement practices aligned with academic policies and industry norms.
- Supervise a team of CGDC officers, relationship managers, and coordinators with a collaborative and empowering leadership style in collaboration with academics.
- Monitor key KPIs and ensure continuous improvement of entire CGDC activities for better experiences to all key stakeholders which includes students and recruiters primarily.
Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate in Management / Engineering / Law / Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in leading campus placements, corporate relations, talent acquisition, or career development in academic or corporate environments.
- A proven track record of leadership, corporate networking, and student success across multidisciplinary education ecosystems.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and strategic planning skills,
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to manage complex placement operations at scale.
