Planning and Controls Lead – Data Center Construction
Lead project planning, scheduling, and controls functions for mission-critical data center construction projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget compliance, and effective resource management throughout all project phases.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, including baseline schedules, critical path analysis, look-ahead planning, and milestone tracking for design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Establish and monitor project controls framework including cost tracking, earned value management (EVM), change order management, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure projects remain within approved budgets.
Coordinate schedule integration across multiple disciplines (electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural) and stakeholders including design teams, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning agents.
Conduct regular schedule updates, progress assessments, and risk analysis to identify potential delays, resource conflicts, or critical path impacts, implementing recovery plans and mitigation strategies as needed.
Prepare and present comprehensive progress reports, S-curves, three-week look-aheads, and executive dashboards for project leadership, clients, and senior management stakeholders.
Lead project planning meetings, schedule reviews, and coordination sessions to align construction sequencing, material deliveries, equipment installations, and testing activities with overall project objectives.
Monitor contractor performance metrics, productivity rates, and milestone achievements, implementing corrective actions when performance deviates from baseline expectations.
Manage document control processes including RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and change management workflows to ensure timely approvals and minimize impact to construction progress.
Minimum 15 years of project controls experience in commercial or industrial construction with at least 3-5 years in data center, mission-critical facilities, or complex MEP-intensive projects. Primavera P6 proficiency and PSP/PMI-SP certification preferred.
