Director - Passive Network

Job Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for leading and strengthen the overall Network Assurance function across our FTTH operations. This role will be responsible for driving network reliability, operational excellence, process optimization, and large-scale network transformation initiatives while ensuring seamless day-to-day network operations.

The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in FTTH operations, O&M (Operations & Maintenance), network deployment, network assurance, and service delivery, along with a strong

orientation toward process excellence, governance, automation, and operational scalability. This role requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational execution, drive cross-functional alignment, and continuously improve network performance, uptime, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Assurance & Operations Management

● Lead the end-to-end Network Assurance function across FTTH infrastructure and operations.

● Ensure high network uptime, availability, stability, and service reliability across all operational

circles.

● Drive efficient management of network incidents, escalations, outages, and preventive

maintenance activities.

● Monitor network health, performance metrics, SLA adherence, and operational KPIs.

FTTH Operations & Maintenance

● Drive operational excellence across FTTH network operations and maintenance.

● Establish standardized O&M frameworks, SOPs, preventive maintenance schedules, and

escalation matrices.

● Ensure timely resolution of fiber cuts, POP/network outages, latency issues, and

infrastructure-related incidents.

● Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and improving customer

experience.

Process Excellence & Transformation

● Identify gaps in existing operational workflows and drive process optimization initiatives.

● Build scalable and standardized operational frameworks across regions.

● Lead network transformation initiatives focused on automation, efficiency enhancement, and

operational simplification.

● Introduce data-driven decision-making and process governance mechanisms across the network

function.

● Drive operational efficiency through automation, dashboards, and workflow redesign.

Strategy & Network Planning

● Partner with leadership teams on long-term network assurance and operational strategies.

● Drive strategic initiatives around scalability, reliability, operational efficiency, and service

excellence.

● Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and operational models to improve network performance.

● Support network expansion and deployment planning from an assurance and sustainability lens.

Stakeholder & Team Management

● Collaborate closely with Network Deployment, Core Network, Customer Experience, Field

Operations, and Business teams.

● Lead large cross-functional operational teams across circles/regions.

● Drive accountability, performance management, and capability building within teams.

● Manage vendor and partner performance related to network maintenance and field operations.

Work Experience & Qualifications

● Proven work experience of minimum 12+ years in similar role in Telecom/ ISP/FTTH Network Operations.

● B.E/B.Tech in Telecommunications + MBA preferred.

● Proven leadership experience in Network Assurance, O&M, or Network Operations functions.

● Experience in managing large-scale FTTH operations and transformation initiatives preferred
