Role Overview
The
Director or Senior Director Business Finance will be a strategic finance leader responsible for driving commercial decision-making, business planning, and financial performance across brands, categories, channels, and geographies. This role partners closely with the leadership team and functions to shape business strategy, optimize PandL outcomes, strengthen the balance sheet, optimize working capital, and ensure profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Partnering and Commercial Strategy
- Serve as the strategic finance partner to brand/category/channel leaders across Mosaic Wellness BUs in India and international; influence key decisions with data-backed insights. Co-own key numbers on the PandL with business team members, to help achieve business outcomes
- Translate business priorities into financial goals, guardrails, and measurable performance indicators.
- Drive commercial clarity across pricing, promotions, discounts, customer acquisition, retention, and contribution margin levers.
- PnL Ownership and Performance Management
- Own full PnL visibility across brands and channels; ensure accuracy, transparency, and proactive risk/opportunity identification.
- Build PnL discipline into weekly/ monthly reviews with business teams.
- Monitor and improve contribution margin, CAC efficiency, repeat rates, LTV, and ROI on marketing spends.
- Financial Planning and Forecasting
- Lead annual operating plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning.
- Build dynamic models for demand forecasting, category/channel profitability, and scenario planning for scale-up initiatives.
- Drive variance analysis and early warning mechanisms to support timely course corrections.
- Analytics, Decision Support and Insights
- Build strong FPandA capabilities including dashboards, predictive analytics, cohort analysis, and KPI tracking.
- Develop frameworks to evaluate new launches, channel expansion (offline, international), pricing changes, media investments, and operational efficiency projects.
- Leadership and Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor the Business Finance team; build a high-performance culture rooted in ownership, speed, and commercial acumen.
- Influence senior stakeholders with crisp narrative building, analytical rigor, and structured problem-solving.
Key Skills And Competencies
- Strong business finance / commercial finance and FPandA background, ideally in consumer businesses, e-commerce, or tech-enabled consumer businesses.
- Expertise in PnL ownership, financial modelling, business partnering, and decision support.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- High analytical capability with comfort in working with imperfect data to reach sharp insights.
- Strong communication and storytelling skillsability to distill complexity into clarity for senior leadership.
- High ownership mindset, speed, and bias for action.
Experience And Qualifications
- 8 to 15 years of experience in Business Finance / FPandA / Commercial Finance roles.
- CA or MBA
- Experience working in high-growth, fast-paced environments is a strong advantage.
