About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Director – Professional Services to lead end-to-end delivery, solutioning, and customer success for our global pharmaceutical clients. This is a critical leadership role that requires a proven track record in IT services organizations managing large-scale professional services, implementation, and custom project delivery.
The ideal candidate must currently be working in a services company in a Professional Services (PS), Delivery Head, or Engagement Management capacity. A strong background in the data domain, with hands-on technical and delivery experience, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Professional Services Leadership
- Lead the execution and growth of our professional services portfolio for global pharma customers.
- Ensure high-quality delivery of data-centric implementation and custom projects.
- Drive service excellence, project profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Act as the executive sponsor for strategic accounts; build strong, trusted relationships.
- Own customer retention and lead strategic account expansion.
- Solutioning & Pre-Sales
- Lead solution design, project estimation, and proposal development for RFPs and RFIs.
- Collaborate with sales and technical teams to create tailored, scalable solutions.
- Delivery & Project Management
- Oversee the delivery lifecycle from initiation to go-live and post-implementation support.
- Ensure adherence to scope, timelines, budget, and compliance requirements.
- Team & Resource Management
- Manage a global delivery team – including resource planning, performance, and utilization.
- Build internal capabilities, mentoring team leads and fostering a delivery-driven culture.
- P&L and Operational Control
- Own the P&L for professional services.
- Monitor financial metrics, utilization, margins, and operational KPIs.
Must-Have Experience
- 15–20 years of overall experience, with:
- Current or very recent experience in an IT services company, leading Professional Services, Delivery, or Implementation functions.
- At least 7–8 years of hands-on experience in the data domain (data platforms, engineering, analytics).
- Strong exposure to custom solution delivery, enterprise implementations, and global client management.
- Proven experience in:
- Solutioning, responding to RFPs, creating SOWs, and project estimation.
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing concurrent engagements.
- Working with global pharma or life sciences clients is a strong advantage.
- Experience in ERP implementations and regulated industries is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Certifications such as PMP, Agile, or ITIL are a plus.
- Proven experience leading large scale software product implementations from scratch.
- Strong technical understanding of custom projects and enterprise IT
- environments.
- Expertise in managing enterprise clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in project management tools, delivery frameworks, and team mentoring.
- Strategic thinking with a bias for action, ownership, and execution excellence.
