Job Description

FedEx is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Managing Director of IT to establish and lead our technology hub for the Digital Global IT function. This executive leader will be instrumental in maximizing the return on our significant investment in India by transforming our strategic vendor partnerships, building a world-class technology organization, and accelerating our global delivery capabilities.

As a key leader within the global digital IT organization, the Managing Director will provide on-the-ground executive leadership, cultivate the renowned FedEx culture, and develop a high-performing, innovative team. This role is crucial for operationalizing our follow-the-sun model, ensuring seamless, 24-hour development and project delivery across the enterprise.

About the Role

The Managing Director will be responsible for leading the technology hub and ensuring alignment with FedEx's global technology and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership & Vendor Management
  • Transform the existing Vendor managed services relationship from a vendor engagement into a deeply integrated, strategic partnership focused on shared accountability and innovation.
  • Drive continuous improvement and enhanced business outcomes by setting clear performance metrics, governance structures, and collaborative processes.
  • Act as the primary executive point of contact for strategic partners in the region, ensuring alignment with FedEx's global technology and business objectives.

  • Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Build and lead a world-class IT organization in Hyderabad, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation that reflects FedEx's core values.
  • Champion the recruitment, development, and retention of top-tier technology talent in a competitive market.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and clear career pathing to develop the next generation of leaders within the organization.
  • Oversee the strategic scaling of the workforce.

  • Global Delivery & Operational Excellence
  • Operationalize and accelerate our global follow-the-sun delivery model by aligning the Hyderabad hub with technology teams across different time zones.
  • Implement agile and DevOps best practices to enable continuous, 24-hour development cycles, significantly reducing project delivery timelines.
  • Ensure the Hyderabad organization delivers high-quality, scalable, and secure technology solutions that meet the demands of the global enterprise.

Qualifications :-

  • 15+ years of experience in information technology, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role managing large, cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing technology teams in a global shared services or captive center environment in India.
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale, multi-million dollar managed services and vendor relationships, with a demonstrable history of driving value and innovation from strategic partners.
  • Deep understanding and practical experience implementing a follow-the-sun global delivery model and leading teams in a 24/7 operational context.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business propositions and outcomes.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and foster a positive and inclusive corporate culture.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Required Skills

Strong leadership, communication, and strategic partnership skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with agile and DevOps methodologies.
