Position Overview

We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Director – Government Sales to lead and

expand our Government Business vertical across Central Government Ministries, State

Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Defense Organizations, and

Regulatory Bodies.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and executing the overall government sales

strategy, building high-value relationships with key stakeholders, driving large-scale digital

transformation projects, and achieving ambitious revenue growth targets. This role requires a

strong leader with deep experience in Government IT Sales, Tender Management, Strategic

Alliances, and Public Sector Procurement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

• Define and execute the Government Sales strategy aligned with AppSquadz's long-term

business objectives.

• Drive revenue growth through acquisition of large government contracts across Cloud,

Cyber Security, Digital Transformation, Application Development, Managed Services,

and IT Infrastructure domains.

• Identify emerging opportunities across Central Ministries, State Governments, Smart

Cities, Defense, Education, Healthcare, and PSU sectors.

• Develop annual business plans, sales forecasts, and growth strategies for the

Government vertical.

Government Relations & Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior officials, Secretaries, CIOs,

Directors, Procurement Heads, and decision-makers across Government departments

and PSUs.

• Act as the primary representative of AppSquadz for strategic government engagements.

• Strengthen the company's positioning with key agencies including MeitY, NICSI, GeM,

RailTel, BEL, C-DAC, STPI, and State IT Departments.

• Develop strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance market penetration and project

acquisition.

Sales & Bid Management

• Lead the complete lifecycle of large government opportunities from identification to

closure.

• Oversee tender management, RFP responses, pre-bid meetings, proposal development,

commercial negotiations, and contract finalization.

• Ensure high-quality submissions for GeM, CPPP, NIC, Defense, PSU, and State e-

Procurement opportunities.

• Drive participation in empanelments, framework agreements, and rate contracts.

Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Government Sales team across regions.

• Establish performance metrics, sales governance, and operational excellence

frameworks.

• Collaborate closely with Presales, Delivery, Finance, Legal, and Marketing teams to

ensure successful project execution.

• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity.

Market Intelligence & Innovation

• Monitor government technology initiatives, policies, budgets, and procurement trends.

• Analyze competitor activities and identify market gaps to strengthen AppSquadz's

positioning.

• Recommend new service offerings and strategic investments based on government

market demands.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or

Business Administration.

• MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.

• 12–18 years of progressive experience in Government Sales, Business Development, or

Public Sector Consulting within the IT/ICT industry.

• Proven track record of winning and managing large Government and PSU contracts.

• Strong understanding of Government procurement policies, GeM, CPPP, NIC, Defense

procurement, and State e-Tendering processes.

• Experience handling multimillion-rupee IT transformation projects and enterprise

solution sales.
