Director - Business Development

Overview
The Director, Business Development, will lead partnering activities for company's pre-clinical and clinical-stage oncology pipeline. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, this individual will lead identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic transactions, including licensing, collaborations, and other value-creating partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new leads and partnering opportunities (out-licensing, collaborations and co-development).
- Lead and manage end-to-end deal processes, including opportunity assessment, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Coordinate cross-functional diligence efforts with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, Legal and Finance.
- Draft and contribute to term sheets, deal summaries, and executive-level presentations.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with biotech, pharma, academic institutions, and other strategic stakeholders in the oncology ecosystem.
- Represent the company at partnering conferences, scientific meetings, and industry events.
- Own the development and regular refresh of external partnering decks and materials, incorporating competitive intelligence and evolving deal benchmarks to ensure compelling and current asset positioning.
Qualifications and Key Requirements
- Post graduation in Science/Business Administration or equivalent degree with strong background in science. (PhD would be an added advantage).
- 15+ years of business development or licensing experience in biotech or pharma.
- Proven oncology transaction experience involving pre-clinical and/or clinical-stage assets.
- Experience in supporting marketing and promotional activities for pipeline assets, including development and refinement of external messaging and partnering materials.
- Ability to operate independently while aligning closely with the Senior leadership team.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
