The Opportunity

Role Summary

Dash Technologies is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting and Finance to lead our accounting function across our US and India operations. Reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the CFO, you will own the accuracy and timeliness of our books, financial reporting, receivables, and statutory compliance in both geographies. You will lead an eight-member finance and accounting team and serve as the primary liaison to our external CPA (US), CA (India), banks, and tax authorities. This is a hands-on leadership role for a finance leader who pairs deep technical expertise across US and Indian standards with strong operational discipline.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Own an accurate, on-schedule monthly, quarterly, and annual close across the US and India entities.
  • Deliver financial reports and management MIS to the CEO, CFO, and leadership on the agreed reporting calendar.
  • Produce financial statements, dashboards, and variance analyses that inform decisions.

Accounts Receivable & Collections

  • Manage the accounts receivable cycle end-to-end and keep AR current.
  • Drive collections, monitor aging, and reduce DSO across the client portfolio.

Accounting Compliance & Taxation (US & India)

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Indian accounting standards (Ind AS), and applicable statutory requirements.
  • Manage direct and indirect tax compliance in both geographies (US federal/state; India GST, TDS, income tax, ROC).
  • Respond to and close tax and state-authority notices within statutory timelines.
  • Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and audit-ready documentation.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic re-forecasting across the US and India entities with the CFO.
  • Build financial models and deliver monthly variance analysis (actuals vs. budget/forecast).
  • Track key financial and operational KPIs — margins, project profitability, utilization, and cash flow.
  • Partner with business leaders on profitability, pricing, and scenario planning to support decisions.

External Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with the US CPA and India CA on filings, audits, and advisory matters.
  • Manage banking relationships, treasury, and reconciliations across US and India accounts.
  • Coordinate statutory and internal audits as the primary point of contact for external partners.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the eight-member finance and accounting team.
  • Set goals, review performance, and establish clear ownership and documented processes.
  • Report to the CEO and partner with the CFO on financial performance and risk.

Your Impact

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

Within the first 6–12 months, a successful Director of Accounting and Finance will have delivered:

  • On-time close: monthly books closed within five working days, with quarter- and year-end closes delivered on the agreed calendar.
  • Reliable reporting: management reports and MIS delivered every period, on schedule, with no missed deadlines.
  • Healthy receivables: AR kept current, aged balances cleared, and DSO trending toward target.
  • Clean compliance: all US and India statutory filings (GST, TDS, income tax, ROC, US federal/state) filed on time with no late-filing penalties.
  • Notices closed: open tax and state-authority notices tracked to resolution within statutory timelines.
  • Audit-ready: statutory and internal audits completed with no material findings.
  • A stronger team: a capable, accountable finance team with clear ownership and documented, repeatable processes.
  • Update budget and forecast: update budget and forecast every month with the help of CFO on time every time.

Required Qualifications

What You Bring — Must-Have

  • CA or CPA (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • 10+ years in accounting and finance, including 5+ years leading a team.
  • Dual-geography expertise: hands-on experience in both US accounting (US GAAP) and Indian accounting (Ind AS, GST, TDS, Companies Act / ROC).
  • Direct experience managing month/quarter/year-end close, financial reporting, and accounts receivable.
  • Experience handling US and Indian tax/state-authority notices and liaising with those authorities.
  • Experience working with external CPAs (US), CAs (India), auditors, and banks.
  • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Tally, or Zoho Books) and advanced MS Excel.
  • Shift readiness: able to work the 2:00–11:00 PM IST shift, including night-shift coverage on select days, to align with US operations.
