About The Team

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Program supports end-to-end access management for all employees, contractors and the systems and applications to which access is granted.

You will be joining a high-impact global security organization, operating out of our India office. Although based in India, the IAM team is deeply woven into the fabric of the global Enterprise Cyber Security organization.

As a critical pillar of our global Enterprise Cyber Security function, the IAM team here serves as a center of excellence, driving engineering innovation and operational stability. We operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams across different geographies to safeguard our digital identity landscape.

Impact

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director to lead and evolve our Identity and Access Management (IAM) function. This role is critical for safeguarding organizational assets and ensuring compliance with regulatory and security frameworks. The Director will have overall responsibility for developing and executing IAM strategies across a complex enterprise environment, balancing both operational effectives and engineering innovation to provide seamless and secure user access while minimizing security risks. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IAM systems, strong leadership and management skills and a prover ability to innovate and drive change in security operations. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams in India and US and will be responsible for driving the roadmap for IAM technologies and processes.

Key Deliverables

  • Lead the IAM Operations and Engineering India teams in the development and execution of identity and access management strategies.
  • Provides strategic direction on IAM architecture, ensuring alignment with business needs, industry best practices, and security standards.
  • Build and nurture a high-performing IAM team, mentoring and developing team members to expand their technical and leadership skills.
  • Act as the escalation point for IAM related incidents or service disruptions ensuring timely investigation and resolution.
  • Lead root cause analysis for IAM related issues and incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with internal IT teams, Security and other business functions to ensure IAM operations are aligned with broader security and operational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of IAM operations.
  • Provide regular reporting on IAM operations performance, incident response and compliance status to senior leadership.
  • Ensure all IAM operations activities are documented in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Define, develop and maintain the IAM roadmap to align with the organization's digital transformation and security initiatives.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and provide guidance to senior leadership on IAM-related risks, policies, and technological advancements.
  • Oversee the design, deployment and optimization of IAM solutions, including authentication, identity lifecycle management and privileged access management (PAM).
  • Drive automation and scalability in IAM processes through the implementation of modern technologies such as cloud-based IAM, Single Sign-On (SSO). Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and adaptive access control.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of IAM systems, ensuring 24/7 availability, high performance, and minimal disruption of business.
  • Ensure IAM solutions and practice comply with relevant security regulation, standards, and frameworks, including NIST, ISO 27001, SOX, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, SOC 1, HIPAA, GDPR and others.
  • Manage relationships with IAM vendors and third-party service providers, ensuring contractual obligations are met and services are delivered according to agreed-upon SLA.

Skills And Qualification

Functional Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience in identity and access management operations with at least 6 years in a leadership or management capacity
  • Proven experience managing IAM technologies, tools, and platforms (eg., Okta, Azure AD, SailPoint, CyberArk, Ping Identity, AWS)
  • In depth knowledge of identity lifecycle management, access control models (RBAC, ABAC etc)
  • Good understanding of access governance, authentication protocols (Eg. SAML, OAuth etc)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
  • Strong understanding of Security concepts and protocols such as MFA, RBAC, Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Security and business stakeholders.
  • Develop a talent pipeline by recruiting, training, and retaining top IAM professionals. Establish training programs to continuously upskill team members on IAM technologies, regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Oversee resource allocation, budgeting and forecasting for IAM Operations and Engineering projects. Ensure Optimal use of resources to meet organizational goals.

Technical/Business Skills

  • Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and influence global stakeholders
  • Proven experience managing large-scale IAM projects, from inception to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Experience with IAM solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integration of IAM with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of data protection and privacy laws (E.g., GDPR, DPDP, CCPA)
  • Experience in automating processes or access governance workflows
  • Background in financial services or regulated industries

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry-recognized certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM), or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
