Job Description

  • Job Intro:
  • The Engineering team is looking to help manage the India engineering team consisting of data engineers, application engineers, and QA engineers.

  • Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • We are looking for an engineering leader to lead our engineering team in India. You will work in a fast-paced environment where you will get an opportunity to contribute to the entire scope of the engineering team 

    You will get an opportunity to -

    Make a significant impact in the life sciences space by leading a critical engineering function and building a high-efficiency offshore team

    Lead a team of 20+ software development engineers and QA engineers

    Contribute to building products and solutions that span across data engineering and SAAS applications

    Develop products and solutions using technologies like DataBricks, Pyspark, Python, Java, React, RDS, Redshift, SQL, AWS services

    Understand and translate Verana Health business needs into engineering solutions

    Partner with cross-functional stakeholder including Product managers, Architects, Data Quality engineers, Application and Quantitative Science end users to deliver products

    Instill a culture of Transparency, Accountability, and Commitment (say-do Ratio) within the India engineering organization

     

    Basic Requirements:

    Experience leading larger engineering teams

    Proven technical and managerial leadership in either data engineering or SAAS applications is a must

    Around 15 years of work experience in building scalable and robust engineering solutions

    At least 8 years of experience managing software engineers

    Demonstrated ownership, and accountability

    Experience participating in scrum teams

    Exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to partner effectively in a global, matrixed organization, working alongside US-based engineering leadership to ensure timely and high-quality delivery

    Be able to lead and oversee multiple projects at the same time

    Proven track record developing talent within organizations

    Be comfortable with doing fair and candid performance reviews and hold individuals accountable

    Strong business sense to gather priorities and be strategic in decision making

    Passion towards healthcare and improving patient outcomes

    Demonstrate analytical thinking with strong problem solving skills

    Stay on top of emerging technologies and possess willingness to learn

    Bonus Experience (optional)

    Past experiences organizing work in scrum teams
