The
Director of Engineering provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for multiple engineering organizations or product domains. This role is accountable for shaping the long-term technology strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring delivery of secure, scalable, and customer-centric solutions. The Director partners with executive leadership across R&D, Product Management, Security Services (S2), and other business units to align engineering execution with corporate objectives. This leader builds a culture of excellence, fosters organizational agility, and ensures engineering capabilities scale with business growth.
What Youll Do
Enterprise-Level Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute multi-year engineering strategies that support corporate vision and growth objectives.
- Influence company-wide technology decisions and contribute to enterprise architecture strategy.
- Drive alignment between engineering priorities and business outcomes through executive-level collaboration.
- Champion innovation and emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage.
Operational & Organizational Excellence
- Oversee multiple engineering directorates or product portfolios, ensuring delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for engineering performance, quality, and velocity across the organization.
- Lead transformation initiatives to improve scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Remove systemic and organizational barriers to accelerate execution.
Executive People Leadership
- Develop and mentor senior technical leaders, building a strong leadership bench.
- Drive succession planning and leadership development programs across engineering.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, psychological safety, and continuous learning.
- Set organizational tone for accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
Financial & Resource Stewardship
- Own multi-million-dollar budgets for engineering organizations, including headcount, tools, and infrastructure.
- Optimize resource allocation across global teams to meet strategic objectives.
- Partner with Finance and HR on workforce planning and organizational design.
Cross-Functional & External Engagement
- Represent Engineering at executive forums, board-level discussions, and industry events.
- Build strategic partnerships with Product, Security, Customer Success, and external technology vendors.
- Ensure engineering execution aligns with regulatory, security, and compliance standards.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 12 years experience in engineering leadership roles, including managing multiple teams or programs.
- Extensive experience leading large-scale, global software engineering organizations.
- Proven success in defining and executing technology strategies at an enterprise level.
- Strong technical acumen with ability to influence architectural decisions.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and organizational structures.
