Senior Technical Delivery Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Delivery Manager to lead large-scale Application Development & Maintenance (ADM) engagements. The role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, Agile delivery leadership, client management, commercial acumen, engineering excellence, and people leadership.

The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end delivery, building strategic client relationships, ensuring operational and engineering excellence, managing delivery financials, and driving continuous improvement and innovation across the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Program Management

• Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale ADM engagements, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, quality, SLAs, and business objectives.
• Establish and drive Agile delivery practices, governance, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage delivery risks, dependencies, escalations, resource constraints, and operational challenges.
• Ensure effective transition, application maintenance, enhancements, production support, and continuous delivery.
• Drive engineering excellence through standardized processes, automation, quality practices, and modern development methodologies.
  
  

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary client-facing delivery leader, managing relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Understand client priorities and translate business objectives into actionable delivery roadmaps.
• Lead governance meetings, performance reviews, escalations, and delivery discussions.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities to improve satisfaction and expand the engagement.
  
  

Technical & Engineering Leadership

• Provide technical oversight across application development, modernization, integration, maintenance, and support activities.
• Promote best practices in software engineering, DevOps, automation, cloud, security, and quality engineering.
• Collaborate with architects and technical leads to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies and innovative approaches to improve productivity, quality, and delivery outcomes.
  
  

Commercial & Financial Management

• Own engagement-level budgets, revenue, margins, utilization, forecasting, and resource planning.
• Manage project financials, estimation, staffing, capacity planning, and commercial commitments.
• Ensure delivery remains aligned with contractual obligations and approved scope.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, productivity improvement, and value realization.
  
  

People & Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams comprising Technical Leads, Developers, Architects, QA, DevOps, and Support professionals.
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, engineering excellence, and continuous learning.
• Drive workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and capability building.
• Coach delivery and technical leaders to strengthen organizational capabilities.
  
  

Process Excellence & Innovation

• Identify opportunities to optimize ADM processes, delivery models, and operational practices.
• Drive automation, AI-assisted engineering, DevOps, and other modern delivery practices.
• Establish and monitor delivery KPIs, SLAs, productivity metrics, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across the engagement.
  
  

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 16–20 years of overall IT experience, with significant experience in Technical Delivery / Program Management.
• Strong experience managing large-scale ADM / Application Development & Maintenance engagements.
• Proven expertise in Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong technical understanding of software development, application modernization, integration, and production support.
• Demonstrated experience in client relationship and stakeholder management, including senior technology/business stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, financials, utilization, resource planning, and delivery margins.
• Proven people leadership experience managing large, distributed technical teams.
• Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and escalation-management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive delivery excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing large and complex ADM engagements in an IT services environment.
• Exposure to Cloud, Microservices, APIs, DevOps, CI/CD, Automation, AI/GenAI, and modern engineering practices.
• Experience in application modernization and digital transformation programs.
• Agile certifications such as CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent.
• Experience in driving technology innovation, automation, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree / MBA is preferred.
• Proven track record of successful delivery, client satisfaction, and team leadership.
