We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Director, Common AI Capabilities Engineering

Department: Emerging Technology

Location: This role can be based in Guangzhou, China or Pune, India.

The Opportunity:

In this fantastic new role, you will join a growing team to lead an experienced group of engineers to design and develop AI common capabilities. This is a critical role to identify and build common AI capabilities, to enable business and function lines across the bank to adopt common AI capabilities to accelerate the delivery of AI use cases in a cost-effective manner.

What you'll do:

Analyzing and identifying common needs of AI capabilities (e.g., Speech transcription, translation, knowledge management) across our group businesses and functions lines
Designing the common AI capabilities to ensure they are easy to adopt and integrate, flexible to be customized, scalable to support increasing demand
Developing, and maintaining common AI capabilities for scaled consumption across our Group Businesses and Functions, and run these services in production to ensure they're stable and resilient
Integrating AI capabilities into our Group AI Platform which spans on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure across GCP, Azure, AWS and Ali environments.
Actively sharing, promoting and working closely with technology teams across Group businesses and functions to enable them to adopt these common AI capabilities
Building and managing a high-performing global team of ML SMEs and full stack engineers, to ensure the AI capabilities are built fit for purpose with high quality
Establishing engineering best practices, including continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline workflows, automation testing framework, and monitoring systems for AI applications, and ensure continuous improvement of engineering practices
Implementing observability, reliability, and performance optimizations for AI capabilities in production
Ensuring compliance to architecture principle, technical standards, security requirements and software development life cycle controls

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Technical:

Designing and building reusable and scalable AI capabilities
AI capabilities and their application in financial services domain
Programming languages such as Java, and Python
Agile Methodology
CI/CD tools, automation testing, and observability (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
