Scope

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Automation and DevOps to lead our strategy, implementation, and management of automation and DevOps practices for our SaaS solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who is passionate about driving operational excellence, scalability, and innovation within cloud-based environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing DevOps teams, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and fostering a culture of automation and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership:

• Define and execute the automation and DevOps strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives.
• Drive initiatives to modernize and optimize the infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and development workflows.

• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of DevOps engineers and automation specialists.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.

Automation And CI/CD Implementation

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and secure deployments.
• Drive automation initiatives across infrastructure provisioning, testing, and deployment processes.

SaaS Infrastructure Management

• Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of SaaS applications by leveraging modern cloud technologies and architectures.
• Optimize costs while maintaining performance through effective cloud resource management.

Monitoring And Incident Management

• Establish robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure proactive identification and resolution of performance and reliability issues.
• Lead post-incident analysis and implement preventive measures to improve system resilience.

Security And Compliance

• Work closely with security teams to ensure DevOps processes and tools align with compliance and security standards.
• Integrate security practices into the DevOps workflows (DevSecOps).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with engineering, product, and operations teams to align on goals and deliver scalable solutions.
• Advocate for DevOps best practices across the organization, promoting a shift-left mindset.

Innovation And Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team efficiency and product quality.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science engineering, or a related field.
• 18+ years of experience in DevOps, automation, and infrastructure management roles, with 5+ years in leadership positions.
• Proven expertise in managing DevOps for large-scale SaaS applications.
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
• Strong understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
