Position Summary
The Delivery Director for Data & AI will lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale Data, AI, and GenAI programs for global Pharma clients. This role requires strong expertise across the Azure data ecosystem, Databricks, SQL, and PySpark, along with a proven track record in managing complex data platforms, AI solution deployments, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide strategic delivery leadership for enterprise data platforms, AI/ML solutions, and GenAI implementations.
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams across Data Engineering, MLOps, GenAI engineering, Cloud, and Product Management.
- Own delivery governancescope, quality, timelines, financials, risks, and stakeholder communication.
- Partner with Pharma business leaders, Product Owners, and IT architects to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Drive architecture discussions across Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Delta Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, and related ecosystem components.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in data modeling, data quality, data pipelines, ML lifecycle management, and GenAI prompt engineering.
- Oversee delivery of machine learning models, LLM-based applications, NLP pipelines, and GenAI copilots or agents.
- Implement delivery frameworks, reusable accelerators, and automation to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Mentor and grow technical talent across data engineering, cloud, and AI functions.
- Support pre-sales activities, RFP responses, solutioning, and estimation for new business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with pharma regulations, data privacy, GxP, and responsible AI standards.

Work Experience
- 15+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Cloud, AI/ML, and advanced analytics delivery roles.
- Strong hands-on background (earlier career) in SQL, PySpark, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, and related Azure services.
- Deep understanding of GenAI technologiesLLMs, embeddings, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale data platforms and AI solutions for Pharma/Life Sciences customers (must-have).
- Proven ability to manage large distributed teams and multi-million-dollar programs.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, delivery governance, risk management, and end-to-end program ownership.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
