Direct Tax Associate

Key Responsibilities

Direct Tax Compliance

• Prepare and file income tax returns for individuals, firms, LLPs, and companies.
• Ensure accurate computation of taxable income, deductions, and tax liabilities.
• Assist in TDS/TCS compliance, including returns, challans, and reconciliation.

Tax Audits & Assessments

• Support in tax audit processes, including documentation and working papers preparation.
• Assist in handling income tax assessments, responding to notices, and preparing submissions.
• Coordinate with consultants or legal advisors for scrutiny or appellate proceedings, if required.

Advisory Support

• Conduct basic research on income tax laws and recent amendments.
• Assist in drafting tax opinions and advisory notes under supervision.
• Stay updated with changes in tax regulations, CBDT circulars, and case laws.

Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and statutory authorities for information and compliance requirements.
• Maintain and update tax files, computation records, and compliance trackers.
• Support in statutory and internal audits with respect to direct tax matters.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of Indian Direct Tax Laws
• Working knowledge of Income Tax Act, TDS, and filing procedures
• Good research and analytical skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and tax filing software (e.g., ClearTax, Winman, etc.)
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and coordination abilities
